Photopass...ahh!!!

I don't know why, but this whole Photopass business is confusing me! Lemme lay out what I know (or what I think I know) and then ask a couple questions and hopefully you guys can help me out!

From what I understand...you have your Photopass card that you either get before you leave if you pre-purchase something, or inside the parks when you get there, which you hand to the photographers when you get your photo taken..Swipe and off you go. Good so far? Ok ok lol, what's confusing me is how many options there are.

If I were to get the photopass CD, then I have all of my photos that they took of us during our trip, and full licensing forever so I have ownership of all the files. Am I right with that?

If I were to get the Photopass+...that includes the CD, as well as another CD with a whole bunch of stock Disney photos for our collection too....but in order to get actual photographs, we still need to buy them?!? Like if I'm home with the CD and I go to Walgreens or CVS or something with a computer where I can pick and print digital photos, I still need to pay a ton in order to get a bunch of 5x7's...8x10's...etc. Am I right?

So for $100 and up, I'm just buying ACCESS to those photos from my trip, taken professionally by the WDW Photopass photographers?

lol, I'm so sorry for all these questions...I just can't find suitable answers for all of my questions! And the believe it or not, to me....the Photopass website is overwhelming...the descriptions aren't specific enough for me.

I'll be there, staying club lvl at AKL with my girlfriend for 5 nights next month. I'll be proposing on our arrival night privately in our room. Which option do you think would be best for us? If it helps...we'll only have one ADR for the meals listed for photopass photos. (Tusker House breakfast).

Thank you so so much!!! awesome

Okay, i'm sorry for the huge post at first lol...I can narrow this down pretty easily:

If I buy the Photo CD i'll be spending $120 on a CD (or CD's if it's A LOT of photos)...all in .jpg format...high pro quality? And if I wanna print out any; whether if it's at home or at a local digital photo processing place..CVS, Walgreens, whatever, that's more money on top of that?

Is that 30-day policy effective on the CD?

You can print them out at home without a charge as far as I know, that's what you're paying the money for. What buying the photopass cd does is give you the right to use digital images that Disney took.

However if you print them someplace else, like Walgreens, you have to pay what Walgreens charges you to print them. That's true of your own photos as well, and Walgreens is a lot less expensive than having Disney Print them.

Once you have the CD, you have the CD. The 30 day policy is mostly so that they're not storing millions of pictures on their servers for extended periods of time.

To add to what Kristen has stated, the CD and photos inside of it are yours. If you have a photo printer at home, you can print away as much as you want. It is no different than any other jpg photos that already have.

The 30-day policy is the deadline for you to claim all the photos that are associated with that photopass after the photo was taken, i.e. after 30 days, the photo will disappear from your online photopass account.

Here's something I would suggest. Don't buy the CD there! Wait till you get back, and then go online and look at the photos. You can add embellishments to any and all the photos if you want and save them (in addition to the original photos). You can add characters, disney-themed borders, etc. After you've done that, then order all the photos in a CD. You will pay the same amount, but this time with additional photos that have all those embellishments.

Zz.

So buy it when we get back? It's the same price as before we leave? I know it's more there...

Are you celebrating anything while you're there ? If so the CD is cheaper
If you pre-purchase the CD is cheaper but you can wait and add the embellishments when you get home and then order (best of both worlds)

We love the Photopass and I will always always get it. There are 2 of us and we like to be in photo's together. or there are 7 of us and we like to have photo's together

it's easy and simple, and if you have multiple cards you can combined them on the website after you get home.

it's easy
