Pirate Rooms at Caribbean Beach

Has anyone stayed in one of the Pirate rooms at the Caribbean Beach resort? I'm curious, are they worth the extra money? And also, how is the bus service at CB? I know its a large resort, so I'm wondering if it takes forever for the buses to make it all the way around or whether they have a different bus for each section. I'm considering this resort for my larger family trip next December. Any feedback on the hotel would be welcome. I've never stayed there.

Is it worth the money? My daughter said "This is the Best Room Ever!" That was worth the money. I have a ton of photos from our trip 2 weeks ago and we all loved the pirate room. As for the distance I was in a wheel chair and we walked/wheeled me to the restaurants. We found the wait for the bus to go to the parks about 10-15 minutes wasnt too bad. Each section of CBR has their own bus station so you'll wait the same ammount of time for buses pretty much anywhere on the resort I think. I really wish I could have run though since the running trail looked really nice. We saw lots of cute little lizards too.

Thank you. I would love to see some of your pictures if you have time to post a few. I looked on the Disney site and they have a few, but its always nice to hear it from somebody who saw it first hand!

We've stayed in a pirate room - it was a free upgrade for us, actually, because we were off season! We really loved it, and I agree with Pixie - the bus waits aren't too long at 10-15 mins (but still too long for DH who is super impatient about such things.) I posted some pics here from our overnight. Looking forward to seeing Pixie's too.

We stayed at CBR about 2 yrs ago. It's a huge resort like POR. The pool that looks like a fort from POTC ride is cool. We didn't get a Pirate Room. Those were all booked but the room we had was very nice. We had to wait about 10 min at the most for a bus to MK, AK, and Epcot.

If you love the "Caribbean Feel" but can't afford the "Polynesian", this is great.

Lizzy, the pirate room pictures are awesome. Thank you for sharing them with me. I'm thinking my nephew will absolutely love them. I think now all that stands in my way is my budget. I may need to rethink it. wink

Thanks Poppet. I know my family would probably love the Caribbean feel, and I love that you think its a good alternative to the Poly.

My pleasure! Any flexibility on dates? Maybe it would be a little more affordable during one of the "off" times if that can be done. Of course with vacation times/ work schedules/ school schedules etc, I know that can be tough...and of course February doesn't have all the cool Christmas stuff Smile
