Post Your Pets!

We have two Dachshunds named Jenny (10) and Abbie (3). Jenny is a standard, black & tan ... Abbie is a miniature, long haired dapple. We received Jenny from my grandmother when she had a stroke and was unable to care for her anymore. She is also a rescue from very mean people. Abbie we have had since she was 10 months old. Here's a few shots of them.

My mom was crazy about having a Cairn Terrier before we got Lola. But we couldn't find it around here!

I thought I'd start with pictures of the dogs...there is only 2 of them...
the 5 cat pictures might take awhile to load!

The German Shepherd is Bella Rose Contessa. It's funny she ended
up with three names because for the first 3 weeks after bringing her
home - we couldn't think of one! I volunteer with Guardian German
Shepherd Rescue and she came from a neglected litter of pups left
in a rural farm in southern Indiana. She is super smart and is so
human like at times it's scary!

The Coon Hound Mix is from Amy's cousins co-workers friend
(follow that!?). Her name is Molly Sue Jennifer.
She has been the "difficult" child... She was a
terrible puppy..chewed everything in reach of her fangs..took
well over a year to even remotely potty train...rips books off the
bookshelves and destroys the covers...and has personal space
issues...but because she is such a challenge, when she does
feel like giving us love, you feel like you won the lotto!

Ok.. the Cats!

First up, our black & white tuxedo is Daisy..she was adopted as an
adult with health problems (bad teeth)..we kept her name from the
shelter. She was the one who just had the cancer tumor removed
and is doing very well! She is our lap cat, a huge purrer and
prefers to be near us.

Lola is a furry mess.. We have a Fort History dig every summer
by the river in a wooded area. I took Amy down to show her the
awesome old 1700 items they had dug up when Lola found us.
She was just a furry little kitten and well, we couldn't leave her there
for the coyotes to eat...no one ever claimed her so home she came.
She is still pretty small and for at least the first month the dogs chased
her because they really did think she was a squirrel.

Nemo is solid black with some white whiskers...Amy had adopted him
before we met. He is not a lap cat, but he loves to snuggle up next to you
when you are in bed. he is very regal and has the aura of being an Egyptian
Cat God. He also fetches water bottle caps and milk rings.

Next up is the "E Boys". Amy's mom had a feral cat find its way into her garage.
She left food for it, it gave birth to kittens a short time later, then a week after that
the mother cat crawled up in the rafters and died (from what we don't know).
Amy's mom took the kittens in and hand raised them..we helped when they had to
go to Mayo Clinic..When they were 7 weeks old...her mom kept two and we took
the black one; "Eli" and the gray one "Einstein". They are total cuddle bugs,,,
Einstein fetches milk rings, loves to lay on my chest when I'm on the nook reading
WDWFGU's, and will stare into your eyes like he is reading your soul. Eli
prefers to only be held when you are right out of the shower! He is all over you
and you can't hardly dry off as he wants to be held. He is the talker and wil
tell you plenty of "stories" whenever you pay attention to him. The picture is
of him lying next to Nemo.

Crazycatperson, I will race you to go get all of those kitties. Every time I grumble about litter boxes and litter tracking and fur to vacuum I just look over at one of my kitties. Love, love.

Such great pet pics!!!! This smart guy is Biscuit aka the Biz......BuffaloBill thinks he's his dog but Biz loves to visit my house, pee on the bushes and sit on my lap when we all ride in the truck!

I cannot believe I missed this thread!! Pets are my second favorite topic (second to Disney of course!!). My 2 babies, Bella and Bandit, are below. The third picture is Bella and I at the dog park with my sister and her dog, Rascal. Since I moved to Nashville I feel like I've adopted him too! They are all rescues and can be ornery in their own ways, but how could you not love those faces?!

I love this thread.

We now have one guinea pig (just lost his mate) and two budgies.

Along with those we have our Rescue dog Oreo. She was adopted from the RSPCA and was due to be put to sleep....

So these sweeties are not mine, but I am fostering them while they get healthy. They are wire haired terrier mixes, and they are a bonded pair who were found wondering the streets of Phila. They both have kennel cough and worms, and the female has an injured left front leg. My friend's rescue pulled them from Phila Animal Control and asked me to take them in while they get better. They are super sweet. The girl is June Bug and the boy is Forrest (though I call him velcro because he's always glued to my side). They are a great distraction from my grief over Willow.

Beautiful foster puppies. And how wonderful you're giving them a chance.

We used to foster cats. Which is how we ended up with 19 cats at one point. Which is why we don't foster any more.

Edited to add: Kris, I completely missed the posts about your losing Willow. I just went back over the whole thread and found them. So sorry. I know how much she meant to you.
