Re-Imagined California Grill Celebrates its 1 year Anniversary!

The Re-Imagined California Grill is celebrating its one year mark since being totally redesigned from decor to menu. How do you think the California Grill turned out? Has it lived up to your expectations? Have you been there yet or are you still anticipating your first time? Let everyone know your thoughts. We have been there 4 times since opening and loved it every time. What about you?

I'll be going for the first time next week. I'm looking forward to it. I'll let you know what I think after we've eaten there.

I've never been. I like the idea of watching Wishes during dinner but I just can't bring myself to pay that much for a meal Puzzled

We were just there for our anniversary last Wednesday and it was spectacular! We each got a cocktail, Jon got the Sweet Corn and Halibut soup and the Bison Tenderloin, and I got the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli and the Dragon Roll and then they also gave us each a glass of champagne and a creme bruele complimentary for our anniversary. Our total including a 20% tip was $156.53 which I thought was pretty reasonable considering the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere.

Nice Allie! Yeah and we pay that much or more around here for a meal out at a nice restaurant. I was upset about the Dragon Roll being reduced in size our last visit.

I spoke to our favorite waiter Gary who said I was the first to really say anything. he said they were cutting a lot of the portion sizes of the apps down, but the Spicy Kazan roll was staying the same for now.

Took my folks there to celebrate their anniversary last December. It was as scrumptious as usual! I like the new decor too!

The DH and I just got to try Cali-grill for the first time this recent trip. We loved it! I am a huge fan of sushi and I had some of the best there. The food was amazing and the view is wonderful even when it is raining. We would go back again in a heartbeat. clapping

We loved the new California Grill. It was amazing and the best meal we had all Disneymoon. I made sure that we had it booked for this upcomnig trip with my parents and my sister. I am sure they are going to love it.

Sorry guys but I have to be the nay-sayer. It was a flop from beginning to end. A view over looking the roof and AC units, the corn and halibut soup was horrendous and I couldn't even choke it down( yuck ), the ONE goat cheese ravioli was good according to my husband (but did I mention ONE ravioli?), my filet was FULL of gristle, the sides were very heavily salted and I didn't think the rooftop view of the fireworks was as spectacular as they make it out to be. The only real perk was dessert. The DELICIOUS creme Brulee for dessert complimentary for our anniversary and my husband LOVED the donuts, but the chocolate cake was WAY overly rich. Two bites and I was done..and I LOVE me some chocolate. We received so much positive feedback from friends that I couldn't believe we went to the same place. I then found out that they went before the new changes, so I wonder if it's now just a totally different experience. confused

Well the ravioli is just an appetizer and is quite large. I'm sorry to hear your steak was not up to par...did you say anything about it to your server?

I understand that the ravioli is just an appetizer, but for $12 or whatever it was we still expected more than one ravioli. We did not say anything to the server because it wasn't worth it and I didn't feel like waiting any longer than we did for the dinner. Sending it back means that my husband would have to eat alone or let his food get cold while he waits for me. I didn't blame the server in any way as he was very nice. Overall we just weren't impressed compared to the hype and had much better meals at restaurants that did not take 2 dining credits. It was actually the only meal in our 5 ADRs that we didn't enjoy.

Sorry to hear you had a disappointing meal there Tink. But truthfully , it is worth saying something to your server, most times they will make it worth your wild. They would have taken your husbands meal back also and you would have been a priority to get your meal back to you ASAP! The California Grill caters to their customers exceptionally!

Just out of curiosity when did you go to the Cali?

The view has always been spectacular as far as we are concerned. Never noticed and air conditioning units or such.

That was the view we were hoping for! So pretty! Walk to the far left of the restaurant where the booths are up against the window and you will see it over looks the roof. If you look out you can see way in the distance but it is NOTHING like the view you posted. Even with it raining I was so excited when I saw the lovely view and then we were seated. What a disappointment. I will see if I can find the picture I took to show a friend. Oh well, like I said the creme brulee was to die for! Smile Goodness knows we didn't starve on that trip! LOL
(Oh and we just went at the end of August)
