Resort Rooms

Has anyone ever tried to replicate any of your favorite resort rooms in your home? I LOVE the bed linens of the "Boardwalk Inn". We have all white linens on our bed with the pillows lined up just like they have it with a small red one in the middle and a yellow coverlet at the end of the bed. It makes you feel like you have a "little piece of Disney" right at home.

The Grand Floridian is another one of my favorites. I love everything Victorian and that resort is heaven to me! LOL!!!

Not a room so much but we are trying to give our basement the Poly feel. We still have a long ways to go with it though. Your post makes me realize that the DVC rooms must not be decorated the same as the other rooms in the Boardwalk. We were just there last September and the bedding was nothing like you describe. I can not remember exactly what they were but they were not white nor were they a solid color. I now wonder if the Beach Club and the Animal Kingdom are the same as far as not every room looks the same.

The rooms were off the lobby in the main building. They also are featured on the WDW website. So beautiful!

Wow, I just looked at the rooms on the website and the rooms look nothing alike at all. I just looked in photobucket to see if I had a picture of the room we stayed in but I do not. I will look we I get home and see if we have one on our computer and post it. I just can not get over how different the rooms are.

I wish I could remember the name of this store..but there is this store in Orlando somewhere where all un-wanted Disney resort stuff goes and they sell it off. I used to post on another board and these two guys who lived in the area pretty much furnished their house with this stuff. They had an AKL amiore, bedspreads..even old Disney phones and trashcans.

The place you are referring to may just be http://www.mousesurplus.com/ They seem to have closed their warehouse location but still sell a lot of stuff via EBAY.

I love www.ownthemagic.com.
It's an amazing site with tons of resort items! You can buy pretty much everything from larger furniture pieces to shower curtains!
I make elaborate plans to redo my home in disney resort themes, but I haven't gotten there yet.

Joe had not-nice things to say about Vettelover and J.P. for posting evil enabler links.

I so would buy a cast member shirt if I could fit into the small size. Damn those tiny cast members!

What I really want are a few chairs from the Contempo Cafe. I drool over those every time we go. If anyone ever sees them for sale let me know. I will buy and beg forgiveness from Joe after. biggrin

Jeff. - You are KILLING me! Seriously, I'm sitting here laughing like a loon.

How cool are those sites??

I have replicated the feel of the luxury bedding of some of my favorite hotels...not necessarily disney, I'm afraid. In my guest room - before my guest room bit the dust to make way for the nursery - I did the whole "sheet - blanket - sheet" combo. I think we had experienced it on Holland America, and I was just so taken by the simple luxury of it. I thought it would make my guests feel special. We have a giant comforter on our bed in the winter, and a pretty patchwork quilt in the summer, so it wouldn't really work in our room, unfortunately.

But it's a great idea. I think I'll look around for a little Disney to add some pixie dust. They say, per feng shui, that you should have a touch of red in every room. Maybe the same goes for a touch of Disney.

That's it! Mouse Surplus!!!!!!

I can't believe they closed their warehouse! That guy I was telling you about probably supported them and once his house was filled he probably caused them to close.

Ugh, I just looked at Mouse Surplus website..it's sort of disappointing sad The pictures of the warehouse that I saw had SO much stuff..it was packed! I'm sad to see that it's closed.
Although I've never shopped there or anything--and the idea of owning a used hotel bedspread kind of oogs me out.
