Rides Breaking Down

We are here!!

We are having a blast! Wink

So, I wanted to see how many times have you been on a ride that has broken down?

So far, my husband was stuck on Dinosaur (he got evacuated and got to walk through the ride!) and Splash Mountain (received fast passes) and we were stuck on It's a Small World (they escorted us over to Peter Pan after the ride).

Pirates was down for a few hours yesterday and so we went to Fantasyland and Peter Pan was down! It ended up being down from about 6pm-9pm.

We hopped on Dumbo and that broke down for about 20 minutes while on!

How crazy is that? Have you been on rides where they have broken down?

Hmm are you guys breaking the rides to get fast passes?

I know on some of the moving floors like Kali Rapids they actually stopped the floor from moving for me. Boot to your knee with a fractured leg and moving floor do not make good friends.

When we went in May, Haunted Mansion broke down at the part where you are looking out over the ballroom dancers and graveyard. It started up again so we were not escorted out. The next day at Epcot, the Nemo & Friends ride would stop and go.....finally it got itself righted. First time ever being stuck on those rides. We usually get stuck on Small World and have that song stuck in our heads for the next month.....ugh!

Mission Space actually broke down after we were shut in our pod and it took about 20 minutes to get it running. I was actually starting to get claustrophobic locked in there.

I've been on a couple over the years but never for so long that we had to be evacuated, and never that many times in one trip! That's sort of crazy. Glad to hear that you're having a blast! We've been thinking about you!

We've had the ride backing up at unloading on both Small World and Splash Mountain, but that doesn't really count as a break down.

I've got to the front of the queue for a coaster at Busch Gardens only to be told the ride had just broken down and was offered nothing for my trouble.

I got stuck and had to be walked out of Haunted Mansion here in Disneyland before. We just got off Splash and were still wet then got stopped right under an air conditioner vent, it was freezing!! I think that is it though.. *knocks on wood*

In '09 I got stuck on Spaceship Earth during a "soft opening" test ride for about 5 min. It was by the Bill Gates garage.

Haha, you know our plan!! laugh

So, after Dumbo, our friend was telling a cast member about Dinosaur, Splash Mountain and IASM, plus Peter Pan and Pirate being down. They told our friend that throughout the day Dumbo had been shutting down and they kept having to reboot it.

The service cast member came over and told him that Peter Pan was down because they had to take a boat out. When he told him about all of the other rides, he said that was crazy because most rides have a 3% "error rating", which is worst case scenario. He said most rides run at 1% error rate during the year, so he was shocked to hear all our rides we were on that breaking.

He said to be on more than one ride breaking on one trip is almost unheard of!

Once I was on Dinosaur and halfway through the ride the lights and soundtrack turned off completely.
Our car kept going just fine and threw us all over the place though. laugh

That's just crazy that that many rides have broken down on you Catherine....This same thing happened to us at Haunted Mansion when we were there in November....We also had a delay while riding spaceship earth....i don't know if it was broken down persay or it was just taking awhile to load people...but we were stuck on that part where you are going down backwards...that was kind of freaky

Omigosh Catherine - wow! No, I've never had anything like that happen. I've had the delays that Pixie is talking about - where they stop the ride to load someone - and I've had a moment or 2, and about 5-10 minutes right beside the organ in Haunted Mansion. But I've never been on one that was so bad they had to unload. I hope everything goes smoothly going forward! Are you having a good time otherwise?

Got stuck on Spaceship Earth at one of the really dark parts for about 5 or 10 minutes. I was with my wife though so we were able to entertain ourselves:)

Lol..I think you all are just having terrible luck! At least you are getting fast passes and stuff!

We've only gotten stuck on one ride ever so I think your average is pretty high!

I'm glad you're having an awesome time though!
