Concerning the sweet potato fries, I would venture to guess that it definitely is an "American" thing. I know that if you go to Longhorn Steakhouse you can get a baked sweet potato with brown sugar, butter and cinnamon as a topping.

Sunday 25th September- Animal Kingdom

By now we were used to the time difference and got up and ready and made our way to Animal Kingdom. Since it was our MNSSHP night we were supposed to be taking things easy so we didn't wear ourselves out.... Poor planning on my part looking back I think we would have been better doing the MNSHHP later in the trip when we had a free day rather than our first day at Animal Kingdom.

IMG_2703

When we arrived and got in the park we made a bee line straight for the photographers in front of the tree. Our first fastpass was Kilimanjaro safaris; we enjoyed the safari and got to sit in the two front seats as there was no one needing the space for wheelchairs etc. We seen loads of animals and were not expecting the rickety bridge part of the trip. When we got off we watched the Silver back gorillas as they were quite active.

IMG_2707

IMG_2734

IMG_2741

After this we had a slow walk over to FOTLK for second FP, we got sat in the warthog section, we only did this show once which was a shame because I really wanted to sit in another section to see the different point of views.

IMG_2756

After the show we left Africa and headed over to Asia and stopped along the way taking in the different sights and to look at the monkeys who were really active climbing along the ropes.

IMG_2761

IMG_2767

Next onto Expedition Everest for our final fastpass... This was getting built when I was last here and hearing all the reviews I was really looking forward to it. This was our second favourite ride of the trip and went on it multiple times. Does anyone know why there is loads of hair bobbles at the top though?

IMG_2778

We were going to head back for some rest when we notice Kali River Rapids only had 10 minute wait. So we joined the queue it was only as we got closer I seen someone had been sick coming off the ride and the sudden fear from my motion sickness/sea sickness kicked in. I totally forgot about it. I didn't want to let DH down and we were so close to the front so I attempted to put my motion sickness bands on without him noticing... my ninja skills are not the best so he noticed and asked if I wanted to back out but I decided against it and since I ran out of time for searching the bag I just gave in. I am happy to say I survived and worried over nothing as I came off and felt fine. We were quite hungry now so got an ice lolly each and walked the Maharajahs jungle trek and decided to head back.

IMG_2790

IMG_2802

We went to Riverside mill and split the Pepperoni pizza that we loved so much and headed back to the room to clean up and rest. The hunger games was on so we watched some of that before deciding to leave at 5:30pm. We got to Magic Kingdom and went round to the right and got our treat bags and decided to go and get a dole whip to cool us down.

IMG_2826

IMG_2830

We walked round to POTC and sat and had the dole whips whilst watching a family playing the sorcerers of the kingdom card game which looks really fun. On to Pirates we went then over to Splash Mountain which was walk on as by this time it was just after 7pm, it was starting to get darker and we preferred this in the dark to the day. We hit some of the trick or treat spots and decided to go into stand by for 7DMT which was posted as 30mins but was more 20-25, we loved the experience in the dark just like SM.

IMG_2835

We decided to try and find a spot for the Boo to You parade, we got good spots considering when we first came in we noticed people claiming spaces. The song has been imprinted into our heads ever since!

IMG_2843

IMG_2858

I started getting hungry and DH was getting tired so when the parade finished we went to Caseys Corner for drinks and food whilst the Hocus Pocus show was on. We sat for as long as we could before claiming a spot for Celebrate the Magic and Hallowishes which DH videoed the whole thing and from where we were standing I loved the shot because you can see the mickey and Walt statue in the corner.

IMG_2913

IMG_2920

As soon as Hallowishes finished we walked through the crowds as fast as we could to the bus depot to get home. It was crazy packed but it was what we expected and we weren't bothered at this point as long as we were going home.

So after what feels like a long time of not posting I have eventually got back too it and wrote up another day. I have new found respect for everyone who posts TR as I love reading them but didn't realize how much work and time went into them. Also apologies for the spamming of emojis above but for some reason my previous day posted numerous times so instead of leaving loads of long posts I edited them to emojis as I couldn't delete them. Hope you all enjoy.

Monday 26th September - Epcot

IMG_3018

IMG_2979

I changed my first fast pass round last night so we could have a lie in as we were shattered after last night. We headed over to Epcot at about 11:15am so it was a late start to the day for us. We went on our first fast pass which was soarin and then snacked around the world a bit before going on living with the land which was our 2nd fast pass, I really think the system sucks at Epcot it was a walk on ride and I felt like we were just using it to use up the fastpasses which I guess is true. We enjoyed this ride and as we were going round we could hear thunder and rain, but both of us were skeptical on if it was just on the ride or not. We got off and the plan of action was to snack some more as we had our ADR at Beaches and Cream for Ice Cream at 3pm.

IMG_2982

IMG_2983

IMG_2983

IMG_2987

As it turns out the thunder was not on the ride, it wasn't raining yet so we decided we would walk towards France and chance our luck. It was only 2pmish so we weren't worried for time and thought we could explore the Beach and Yacht club resorts. As we got closer to France the rain started a little then a lot! We took shelter outside the toilets outside of Epcot. I decided to facetime my mam to pass the time. We were expecting it stop soon. 40 minutes later and it hadn't stopped and we decided to brave it as we didn't want to be late for our ADR. I will hopefully try and put a video of what it was like below.

IMG_3011 We made it to Beaches and Cream a little wet and decided to ditch the ponchos as they we ones we brought from home and I had punctured a hole in mine by mistake. We got seated and as soon as we seen the burgers we looked at each other and had the same look of hunger. So we ordered a burger each which was amazing! I have a love for pickles that I never knew I had but I can't seem to find them here in England, I can only find Gherkins and I don't like them much. Anyway we demolished our burgers and were feeling full but we came for ice cream so we shall have ice cream! DH is a peanut butter enthusiast so he got the No way Jose, I thought I was being sensible by asking for two scoops of ice cream instead of a sundae as technically I am not supposed to have milk or dairy... but if I haven't had any dairy in a long time I can get away with having a little bit so I picked a scoop of butter pecan and cookies and cream if my memory serves... it came and it was huge! DH said what I was thinking that I can't eat all that because I will be ill... he ate all of his though even though it was the size of his head! I tried and dared to have as much as I could without pushing my look and it still looked untouched, but it was delicious. Whilst we were there there were kitchen sinks ordered which we caught on camera coming out.

We went back into Epcot and walked along through France and round the rest of the world showcase just glancing and taking it all in. We made our way for our last fastpass of spaceship earth, I enjoyed it but DH not so much ha, he was not impressed! We then came out and I used a 4th fastpass for Johnny to go on mission space, he went on Red and came off wanting me to go on but I was unsure so said would try another time. We decided to go on single rider for test track since I only managed to get one fastpass for it and it was on a night when we had other plans during the day. We decided to head out and checked out the shops and bought some gifts and went back to POR.

Tuesday 27th September- Rest Day/ HS Night

We had a lovely lie in today, which was much needed. We didn't have anything planned so we decided to get the boat over to Disney springs. Johnny took a timelapse video of the journey which I will try and insert below

IMG_3086

IMG_3095

We did some shopping and had a good wander for a few hours and went to T-Rex for lunch it was a toss up between this and Rainforest Cafe. We both wished we tried Rainforest instead as we both were not keen on our meals. I had the ribs and Johnny had Hawaiian surf and turf, the best part was the glass I got to keep that flashed on the bottom (I am a sucker for this kind of stuff). We enjoyed the theme and couldn't fault the service the food was just not to our taste.

IMG_3097

IMG_3108

IMG_3116

It was starting to look like rain so we decided to head back to the hotel. We made it back in the nick of time as it poured as we got back to the room. We rested up and waited for the rain to stop then made our way over to HS.

IMG_3123

We were still early for first FP so we walked up the shops and tried to take in as much as possible and then opted to watch Indiana Jones.

IMG_3149

We were quite thirsty so we went over to a coco-cola frozen drink stand (I can't remember the name) DH got Jack Daniels and coke slush and I got blueberry Fanta one that was lush.

IMG_3165

IMG_3167

It was then onto Star Tours although because of the time the rides were practically walk on which I thought was cool.

IMG_3160

After star tours we checked the times for Aerosmith... it was about 20mins... we headed over... I was so scared of this ride because I made it all the way to getting on the ride in 2004 and just before they pulled down the safety bar changed my mind and got off! So this was one ride I knew I needed to do and conquer my fear but when I checked my fitbits heart rate when we were waiting to get on it was sky high. Insert blue tongue terrified face here...

STUDIO_ROCKNRCOASTERRIDE_20160927_7815079553

I actually loved this ride so much and wanted to ride again but unfortunately we didn't get a chance to, I missed most of the beginning of the ride because my eyes were tightly shut till I was brave enough to open them. TOT was our next FP so we went over there and we were determined to get better pictures as the last time we both looked miserable for some reason. We both got another drink each and I got some popcorn and we entered for our FP for fantasmic. DH tried to film as much as he could and take pictures but nothing will ever do it the justice it deserves I loved it so much and in future will make room for 2 FP for it because the seats were brilliant and its just an amazing magical show, we both felt in touch with our inner child's when we came out.

Love the Coke and Popcorn shot!

I've only seen Fantasmic once, I guess I need to see it again... I really don't remember being blown away by it for some reason

Wednesday 28th September - Universal and IOA

We got up super early as we were getting picked up at 7:20 by mears. I was running late.... As per... so it was up to DH packing the bag this morning. As we left the room I suddenly asked if he had remembered the credit card... nope...So I rang back and sent him on ahead... he was not impressed with me. We made it in time and had a lovely driver who told us to go in and ignore everything and go straight to Harry Potter to beat the ques. We got out of the cab and you know when a feeling of dread washes all over you... that happened... I asked DH if he had remembered the tickets... he looked at me and pointed to his magicband...bless him he didn't know it was different.
We panicked for a second as there were no taxis that early on a morning waiting around to take us back to the hotel to get them and I spoke to someone sitting in a mears shuttle bus like the one that dropped us off, but he just looked at me and said we have to ring to get picked up... great! What use is that?
I found someone who worked at universal who advised us to go to guest relations and if I have the email about tickets we should be able to sort something. Low and behold after a quick march to guest services a lovely member of staff from Manchester (she understood my which considering I was panicking and talking super fast was so helpful) checked on her computer and I showed her the email confirmation on my phone and had our passport to confirm it was us and she gave us day tickets what a relief!

IMG_3281

IMG_3285

IMG_3286

After a bumpy start we went in and got some water and headed straight for Diagon Alley, we went into Olivanders and bought Harry and the Elder Wands and one for a friend. Then we went and tried a frozen butterbeer which was nice but very sickly sweet. We decided to ride Gringotts when we next visited due toe the fact our bag was so big it was hard to fit in the lockers. So we jumped on the Hogwarts express over to Hogsmede. Johnny went on the duelling dragons roller coaster while I waited outside as it was not my cup of tea at all.

IMG_3303

IMG_3309

IMG_3315

IMG_3316

IMG_3321

IMG_3283

IMG_3334

We then both went on the Hogwarts ride in the castle which DH loved ... I ended up feeling quite sick with my motion sickness after but it was bearable. I then made DH go on the Hipogriff rollercoaster next to it which was nice and cute. We had a look around and made our way to Jurassic park river ride which we got soaked on and was so much fun! Then onto King Kong skull island.... we were excited about this with it being really new, but we're both disappointed. When the ride was over they did say something wasn't right and the experience was compromised and if we wanted to ride again we could stay on. We both decided to not bother, the only thing we could think of was the 3D was a bit unfocused now and again, it might have been a different experience if it had been working properly and I would go on it again if we were there and give it the benefit of the doubt.

IMG_3341

IMG_3384

So we went over to Marvel and rode Spider-Man which was the longest we waited for a ride I think it went down briefly whilst we were in the queue, I remember in 2004 this was the cutting edge technology and was my step-dad's favourite ride. Then Johnny went on the hulk ...I don't do big roller coasters. Dr Dooms free fall was down for maintenance. We went to cat in the hat because I was determined this ride was awesome as I rode it repeatedly when I was little..... it was terrible well compared to when I was little, I remember it very differently ... Johnny was not impressed.

IMG_3391

We got the Hogwarts express back to Diagon alley and walked over to Simpsons land but decided we didn't want to wait for the rides as it was 45mins+ and we had some rides we wanted to do closer to the front. We knew we were getting picked back up at 4:15pm so didn't want to be pushing it for time. We stopped and grabbed a hot dog and crisps that we shared as we decided with being on the dining plan to go out on the night somewhere instead. We then went on Transformers which we preferred over Spider-man and then on Shrek 4d. I then somehow got persuaded to go on the rock it ride it rollercoaster which was good but I felt like my stomach was knotted after and was convinced I was going to fall out as I think the safety bar could of done with another click down. We then mooched about and went out to city walk grabbed a Starbucks and came home. We decided to go to Epcot and snack and drink around the world (DH I don't drink I'm all about the food). We left before illuminations as we were tired.
