Has anyone heard the rumors swirling about that The Wave at Disney's Contemporary Resort is going to be rethemed into an Incredibles Steakhouse? If so, what have been your sources? And what do you think about that?

I have not seen/heard that rumor. Not to sure I would like the change. We have breakfast there quite often. We have also had lunch. My lunch was amazing. Probably the best lunch I have had on property. I am afraid a character steakhouse will lower the quality of the food.

I saw that rumor may be a month or so ago but it wasn't the most reliable of sites/sources so I've taken it with a grain of salt for now.
I've always considered The Wave a bit of a hidden gem. We'd be had some really good meals there and I like the vibe and atmosphere. An Incredibles steakhouse? Eh.

Nooo leave the Wave alone. Agree with Jeff hidden gem. Incredibles Steakhouse sounds tacky and cheap.

I went on search of articles on this topic. Everything I found refers back to this article. I have to wonder who are these 'internal sources'.
I never believe anything until I've heard it straight from the Mouse. I like the Wave just as it is. It sounds like a fun idea.

This articles mentions recent theming changes (Artist Point and Mizner's) that's make me think maybe there is something to this rumor. I guess only time will tell.

Even than sometimes you have to take it with a grain of salt! Many Disney bloggers will grab stories that other sites produce and run with them, giving ideas legs to stretch. That other fan site is not one that I am confident using as a source, sometimes they are right and sometimes it's just talk. I'll ask here about rumors, but I rarely actually write about anything I can't verify from three independent sources, a news network source, or an official Disney source.
The character conversions are true for Artists Point and Mizners though, and it wouldn't surprise me if this was something that happened. Not that I actually want it to, because if it does you know the prices are going up and it will be harder to get a reservation. I really don't need all my meals to have characters, and I think Disney does need to keep some nice midprice restaurants.
Only time will tell.

I'm all for restaurant and lounge upgrades, but I really hope this one doesn't come to fruition. We love The Wave and it really is a hidden gem! And a really decent price point, too. I hope it stays the way it is at least until I can get back there in February
