Say it isn't so....not the California Grill

Did you see this article stating that the California Grill is going to have buffet options for dinner? I thought it was a hoax, but I looked at the menu on My Disney Experience, and it has in fact changed. What happened to my goat cheese ravioli or my spicy kazan roll? I'm not sure this is going to fly....what do you guys think?

Hrmmm... I am skeptical about this. I mean I suppose that they could make it work. The original restaurant there was buffet style, but I just don't know if I like it. I feel like this is going to encourage people camping out at their tables for the fireworks even more than they do now.

Not a fan of this AT ALL. California Grill to me is all about fine dining. Fine dining never involves getting up from one' table and lining up at a buffet for food in trays. I think Yachtsman will now become out go to restaurant.

Bad move on Disney's part IMO. mad

I admit, even thoughI don't like this, I feel the need to go and give it a try before I completely pass judgement. Ya know though, I can not imagine the servers will be happy about this at all. I don't tip the same way at a buffet as I do for fine dining. I usually leave a $40 tip at California Grill when I'm on DDP, and if I have to do the table work, that is not happening.

Apparently a cast member is saying this is an IT issue and is being corrected. It is the NYE menu that was mistakenly put up on the site.

I'm pretty happy to hear that, because the more I thought about it the worse my opinion was.

Now the link is showing the buffet menu again. I guess they're still working on it.

I really hope it is a glitch! I guess we'll just stay tuned for now.

If they make it a buffet, I won't eat there again.

In principle, I have no problem with buffets; in reality I end up eating too much at buffets so I generally avoid them. But regardless of that detail, if I want fine dining I am not lining up at a steam table and serving myself. So if I want fine dining, I'll go elsewhere. And if I want a buffet, I will remind myself that I need to avoid buffets.

The DisneyWorld.com menu has been back to normal for a couple of days now. Guess it was a website glitch after all! sarcastic

The strange thing is that they have added the buffet menu to the bottom of the regular menu. Still confusing as hell. Why is it so hard for Disney to keep their website in order? Surely they have no lack of funds or talent there.

Yeah it's still not right, those station sections shouldn't be there be cause at the top the first one is "Appetizers from the wood burning oven"

Then when you scroll down past the beer list the stations start with the " chilled appetizer station & woodburning appetizer station" .

What would someone who has never seen their menu think if they saw this? How would they interpret this menu? Its absolutely baffling to me that a company as rich as Disney has such a poor website and can't quickly fix problems. Somebody high up is clearly okay with this mess.

Heads would roll where I work if we had wrong info posted on our company website and would be corrected IMMEDIATELY.

I saw someone post this on facebook a little while ago and I was like WHAT! I think there would be a riot. California Grill is definitely a fine dining and a buffet doesn't really say that to me. I would be really sad if I couldn't get my fillet and risotto.

California Grill offers a Sunday brunch which is a buffet but dinner is STILL a signature sit-down dinner. The Disney website has been having problems getting the items to appear under the correct pick-choice ("Brunch" or "Dinner").
