Six Flags to Bankruptcy?

MSNBC said they are on the verge of filing for protection. Their stock is now at 15 cents. (which means I can BUY some!!!!)

nothing quite as satisfying as buying stocks right before the company goes into bankruptcy. interestingly the six flags in dallas (the original i believe) is not actually owned by the six flags corporation, but is operated by them. i suspect it would be a chapter 11 thing anyway, so i tend to doubt they stop operating.

Wow--so what's the possibility of the parks going out of business? They already seem to have been cutting operating hours.

I'm betting on re-org with the worst performers maybe getting shut down. I strongly suspect that most of the more popular ones will stay in business.

Here's a NYT Link about it. They're definitely considering chapter 11 so I'm betting most of your favorite parks will still be around.

i really hope that they close few/none of the parks. i don't get to go to parks as often as i like, and they certainly don't compare to disney, but i really hate to lose the option to go ride rollercoasters nearby.

Sometimes you just want a good thrill ride too. WDW doesn't drop you from anything nearly as high as many of the Six Flags rides.
