Tables in Wonderland formerly Disney Dining Experience

We are debating as to whether or not to purchase this discount card.

From what I gather MOST counter service places in the theme parks are not covered, while most within resorts are. One exception is Flame Tree BBQ, where we are planning on eating.

However, most sit-down restaurants ARE covered, including the five for which we have ADRs (1900 Park Faire, Sci-Fi, Raglan Road, Biergarten and Liberty Tree Tavern). The discount at these five meals may make it worth the $60 cost.

Who else has used this discount, and what was your experience?

This cardis a no-brainer for us, but we eat at table service quite regularly. You basically have to spend $300 on food & beverage that can receive the discount to break even. We probably cover that in one trip, much less over the course of a year. You're going to have another trip this year right? (Now that you're proud DVC owners yay ) I'd guess you'll spend $300 on "discountable" food between those two trips right?

dsoup,

Yes, I figured that $300 was the magic number, and I really think, like you said, that if it doesn't pay for itself this time, it surely will by our next trip.

And just before I wrote this, my wife just reminded me that we added Le Cellier as an ADR, so now it's really a no-brainer! mickey

You got an ADR at Le Cellier?!?! eek I'm guessing crowds won't be too bad if that's the case.

Yes, and we made it pretty late too, just last week, for next Thursday.

We even got the time we wanted; we're doing lunch. I asked the DVC CM how full it was, and she said the reservations were starting to close up for that week. As you know, Le Cellier is THE most popular restaurant on property, and reservations close up even during less busy times.

Yes, if you're an annual passholder.

The discount is only available to FL residents and AP holders. If you're a FL resident without an AP, I believe the cost is $85.

Glad you're getting this discount, guys. We've had the card since passholders were allowed to get it, and we've always gotten our money's worth. It's a GREAT hidden gem discount...one of the few remaining.

Also, you DO get 20% off of alcohol, which can add up if you have a glass of wine with dinner each night...or a glass of ice wine at Le Cellier!

By the way, HOW'D you get a Le Cellier ADR for next week?! It's gonna be EMPTY there... Smile

It's an interesting phenomenon that the card costs MORE for people who are going to have less opportunity to use them (non-Passholder/non-residents).

Is Tables in Wonderland any different from the old Disney Dining Experience?

I believe it's the same thing except for the name change Annie.
