That's it, I'm never going to Disney again!!!!

I seriously hope none of you believed that! LOL waiting laugh

With all of the "news" and "rumors" swirling around the internet, I can't help but be entertained by all of the folks who are "so mad" that they state they will NEVER GO BACK. I want to say to each of them "THANK GOODNESS", more room and food for me and shorter lines!!

Wine and Dine is no longer a night race - I'm never running a Disney race again!!!
Osbourne Lights are ending - I will never step foot in Hollywood Studios again!!
Pandora/Avatar - It's not "Disney" what a horrible idea - I'm finding a new vacation destination!
Preferred Parking - Disney just wants my money I'm going to Universal (they've had preferred parking for a while)

Yea, some of the changes really stink, but then again, they are making way for lots of new things.

Is there anything that Disney could do that would actually keep you from going back???

Maybe if the Cheeseburger Eggrolls disappeared or the Grand Ma Slush in France rolling

I most highly encourage those seriously considering boycotting Disney to stand your ground and never surrender yay clapping, I'm your staunchest supporter.

Now, if I could only get a timeframe (window) when this will take place, off season is not what it used to be mickey .

Some of them are the most ridiculous things I have ever seen. I just laugh and hope they stay home. When the RoL news came out there were several people who were calling to cancel RIGHT NOW! We were going specifically for that but I have regrouped and re-planned and we are still going and going to have fun!!!

I am right behind you pushing them out the gates!!! laugh laugh

I think that if the customer service got to a point where they just really did not care about anyone or anything except making more money I would stop going then. As long as the service is high and I'm getting a quality product though, I will return.

I think there is a point where the cost could outweigh the perks. Right now it costs us a pretty penny to go for just two of us. Add in increased costs, reduced perks and the cost of taking at least one kid and our frequency of going may be reduced dramatically. Things like charging for Magical Express or wifi or another combination of lost perks and it really might change how we travel there.

Due to the removal of Off Kilter and MoRockin/music from WS in 2014, and the latest round of AP increases in 2015, we decided to put our 150 pt BWV contract on the resale market back in December(has not sold yet). We bought this BWV resale in 2006, so we could walk over to enjoy the live music in WS every day. On average, we flew down 2-3 times/yr, and spent 90% of our time at Epcot. Unfortunately, the daily musical entertainmnt at WS is not what it used to be, and an AP now costs $300 more than when we bought in. Not going to keep paying more for less.

I never thought this day would come either, but it is time to vacation elsewhere. I do however hope that everyone else continues to enjoy their trips to Disney, as we once did. Though Disney Corp disappointed us with the changes and price increases, they do know how to make money, so we have become shareholders. Hoping for record park attendance and entertaining movies, going forward!!

I'm wondering how the resale market is going to fare with the recent changes to DVC "extras". It makes me a little nervous that they will make more changes over time making it more difficult for us. Right now, we are ok but you never know... Hope you get a buyer!

I agree. After 20 years as passholders it became apparent that the corporation was penalizing its most loyal customers by charging them more for less. Unfortunately, I don't want to own any part of this company anymore. History is littered with companies that forget what brought them their success. They inevitably are taken over or beaten into the ground. My hope is someday an ethical takeover will occur and Walt's vision will be restored.

Thanks. Not in a rush to sell. I know I can rent our points to my sister, who also has BWV/DVC. Worst-case scenario, we book rooms at OKW or SSR, and spend all of our time at Disney Springs.

I don't know about anyone else. But I feel when someone says, "If you dislike or hate it, don't go", it is almost counter-intuitive. I mean, people may not be willing to spend 3-5 thousand dollars for a Disney trip but there is always someone from another part of the world who is willing to spend double or triple that amount at WDW. Brand loyalty sometimes trumps the cost and I'm surprised I haven't seen too often people berating to others, "You are the problem. It's your fault Disney is so expensive, etc." (Definitely not here but maybe there are madhouse sites where that debate comes up I'm unaware of.)

I have to admit. Disney is on the backburner for my vacation spots at the moment. The cost, lack of new world class attractions, price gouging and my own financial situation are reasons why I'm putting it on hold. Granted, I started a paid internship November of last year (Which explains why I haven't posted a whole lot over the past months.) but even so, the numbers don't match and most importantly, I have to WANT to spend the money and the want isn't there, at least not now. I'll give some time where hopefully things do change for the better but as of now, Washington DC and London are at the top of my desired travel destinations.

The only reasons I have ever boycotted any business establishment is if they discriminate against people based on whatever (race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, etc.). Disney is pretty good these days about not doing that, so I'll still be going. Price increases and such might change the way I visit or the frequency with which I visit, but they won't keep me away.

I would not say that all the changes have completely turned me off from going as you all know we have a trip in the works for November. What it does do is make me consider that there are many other places to go and maybe it will be nice to take a year off or so and see what else is out there.

I would NEVER say I am done going though, but I think a nice year break will give them some time to get all the new plans off the ground a bit and maybe stabilize the "add-on" frenzy that they seem to be on. With that being said, my hubby wants to go to San Franciso, so why not stop by Disneyland while we are only 7 hours away! mickey

I'm definitely cutting back. I'm going to try to go Disney free in 2017. Too many changes and price increases and I'm just not feeling very valued by the Mouse. I've been going too much anyway. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and familiarity breeds contempt, or something.

I really enjoy the parks but in very small increments at least until all the new stuff opens up. We're still giving our money to the mouse through the cruise line but we've slowed down going to the parks.

As I write this I'm realizing it will probably be reversed for 2016-2017 I renewed my AP and the wife can't cruise until after May 2017.

I honestly can't imagine not going to Disney.

I'm one of those people that shows exceptional brand loyalty to Disney - however that doesn't mean that I wear blinders and can't see when a company I love has stepped off a cliff into fleecing it's fans. I feel like a lot of what has been put into place this year it right up at that line of taking advantage of people and I'm not happy about it. Disney is a publicly traded company and must answer to its shareholders, these days the shareholders are pretty dern happy. However they are teetering on that line of losing what made the Disney Parks such amazing places to go to to begin with, an exceptional value with great customer service.

Does that mean that I won't go? Nope, I'll still go. But it also means that I'll voice my opinion more often, and when it comes time for me to vote as a shareholder, I don't let the board tell me what to do.

We accepted an offer on our BWV contract yesterday.

Congratulations! While I'm happy you were able to sell it, I'm sad that it has gotten to the point where you needed to. Not gonna lie..it concerns me as a hopeful DVC owner some day.
