**Updated** I made ADRs today for the trip I may have to cancel... Am I crazy?

When my husband lost his job in March I had already bought airline tickets for a short WDW trip during food & wine festival. Our room mate has to be in Jacksonville for school for a week, and the original plan was for me to go down for a weekend to enjoy the festival and meet him there. When DH lost his job, I assumed I wouldn't be going.

However... I haven't canceled my plane tickets yet. And then today... I made ADRs.

Am I crazy? Continuing to plan for a trip that I'm 75% sure that I'm not going to get to go on? I just keep hoping that if I save enough pennies and tighten in enough belt loops that I'll get to go.

Anyhow, I made ADRs for Dinner at Ohana, Tutto Italia and Liberty Tree Tavern, then for Breakfast at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. All of those, except for Ohana are firsts for me. If that is, I actually get to go.

Thanks everyone! I knew that people here would understand.
I just can't give up hope, ya know! mickey
LOL... love the Mr. T photo. I figured that I can always cancel the ADRs but I can't always get a table when I want it.

Yeah... its better to make them, and cancel... rather than being able to go, and not having them.

Definitely agree.

I'd hate to end up going and not get to eat at my favorite places (or have a ridiculous wait)!

Mt 12 year old daughter got a PIN code in the mail today for free dining during this trip I thought I would need to cancel! My TA is currently trying to see if they'll transfer her PIN code to me! Fingers crossed, I need some pixie dust!!

That's fantastic! What are these pin numbers I keep hearing about? Are they for DVC members only?

No, it's not a DVC thing. This is the first time that we had gotten one of these. I had previously heard of people who got special offers, but I had never received one myself.

Yesterday in the mail there was a big promotional card with Minnie Mouse on it that was addressed to my daughter (the 12 year old one) when I opened it up, it had two discount offers inside. One for 30% off any room before the end of August, the other was Free Dining for 5 different sets of select dates for any room except for suites. The Free Dining offer said "Be sure to use your PIN" and that the PIN was not transferable.

I called my TA, because I thought it was dumb that they sent a PIN code to my 12 year old, and asked him if he thought they would transfer it to me. He called and got everything arranged for us without a problem!

I had told him that we wanted either Pop or Art of Animation if it wasn't too much more. We got a standard room at AOA for $20 more a night than Pop.

I expected that we would be getting the Quick Service dining plan, because that's what the earlier Free Dining offer was for Value Resorts, but NO! The PIN gave us the regular Disney Dining Plan!

I'm just giddy.. this is the first time since my husband lost his job in early March that I've felt that I actually get to do something fun. It's that Mickey Mouse light at the end of the tunnel. LOL....

DVC Members get free dining... laugh LoL... If they're not staying on points. I had to book a "normal" package just like any non-DVC member would.

Hubby is not getting to go on this one. Our Housemate is going to be in FL for school for a week and I sort of tacked a weekend for myself onto the end of his school session. laugh LoL, because I invite myself like that when Disney is on the line. wink

Hubby will get to go next June when the whole family heads down for my Best Friend's Disney Wedding!! I'm crazy excited for that trip. Plus Hubby and I put down a deposit for another NCL Cruise when we were sailing in March, we'll have to book that eventually, but I still have time to set the date.
