Venice Seeking Bans that will Alter DCL Port/Docking

http://disneycruiselineblog.com/2013/09/venice-seeking-to-ban-cruise-ships/

The city of Venice is seeking to ban cruise ships from operation in the Grand Canal because the minister of the environment believes that the wakes from the large ships are eroding the fragile foundations of the city. The city, which is actually built on a foundation of wood pilings driven into the mud, sand and clay has been "sinking" for years. The options being discussed include the possibility of moving the cruise ship port to a nearby city, and banning all cruise traffic within two miles of Venice. Disney prefers to dock at it's Ports of Call and doesn't like to have to tender guests in to shore. This leaves the question of if Disney Cruise Line intends to keep Venice on it's Itinerary - how will they manage transport from the ship to the city?

What are our thoughts?

The laws have been passed and the Disney Magic will still be able to sail in Venice yay
However many larger ships will now have to reroute.

It's on my bucket list too - but we won't be going any time soon.
