Victoria & Albert's

Any recommendations for dining at V&A's? My wife and I are honeymooning to WDW in September and have a reservation for our first night there to have dinner at V&A's for our romantic "honeymoon dinner". Anything that I should know going into it? I have been trying to keep up to date with the menu, even though it does change almost daily, but most of the items on the menu I have never heard of and don't know what they are, and I'm also not the least picky eater in the world, BUT I am more than willing to take some chances and try new things at this, and other, dinners at WDW.

" most of the items on the menu I have never heard of and don't know what they are"

Thats why they invented google. lol I have googled things off of Disney menus before I left. Like haricot vert is a fancy way to say green beans, but I learned that a million years ago in hospitality management school, they call them culinary school now, see everything has to be fancy now a days. lol I have never dined there, but I am sure it will be amazing.

Congrats on the honeymoon.

You will love it, I am convinced!! Go into it with a sense of adventure and look for new experiences. The portions are small (because of all the courses!) so you'll get a good taste, but not be overwhelmed, and I don't mean that in a bad way. If you LOVE the dish, you'll savor each bite; if it isn't quite your cup of tea, the next course will be right along!

V&A will take great care of you; you can contact the NOW to let them know preferences and ask questions. Also, once you are there, as you order, ask questions of your server. They will give you all the information you could possibly need about the menu, and will gladly adapt to your tastes. There are always vegetarian choices, and I overheard a table have a wonderful conversation with the server about taste, ingredient, and flavor concerns.

Kim and I have eaten there twice and it is absolutely THE WDW dining highlight memory we have. The food is outstanding and although it sounds quite exotic, it isn't in any way odd or challenging in taste or texture. It will be beautiful and fragrant, and the accompanying bread will be fresh and warm.

Angels444 is right - some of the dishes have varietal names like Berkshire pork or Kobe beef, or preparation adjectives, or fancy foreign language names. When you get past that, you will find yourselves with fish, fowl, meat, potatoes, veggies, and sauces. The flavors are subtle, the seasoning is perfect. Nothing will be over spiced, there will be interesting textural plays, and you will LOVE the whole experience!

There have been no dishes that I wouldn't recommend, and my partner Kim, who quite picky, thoroughly enjoyed every dish she selected. I selected the wine pairings, and Kim 'upgraded' a couple courses. We carefully choose our courses so that we had different plates and could share bites, and that made the experience even richer.

They will treat you like royalty and will help you celebrate your honeymoon in elegant style and you'll remember it always.

Congratulations!
congrats

Fantastic advice Ollie!

I haven't eaten at V&A, but I have been to Remy, which is Scott Humel's DCL restaurant and it was amazing. I can't wait to get my first taste of V&A sometime.

I think your advice of calling ahead if someone is pick is excellent!
