Walt Disney World for Grown-ups is taking applications for a limited number of Guest Authors to enhance the community by sharing their love of Disney.

Do you have a unique perspective on Walt Disney World? Perhaps you have a specific skill or knowledge that other travelers would benefit from? Have you always wanted to try your hand at writing? We have a volunteer opportunity available and applications are being offered to our current readers first!

Walt Disney World for Grown-ups is accepting applications for a limited time (December 28th, 2014 through January 11th, 2015) for authors to write posts that will be published on our main page. Applicants must have good communication skills and be able to meet pre-arranged deadlines. To apply, please submit a list of 12 topics for approval along with a current writing sample to kristen [at] wdwforgrownups.com.

Walt Disney World for Grown-ups Guest Post Guidelines

Topic Approval & Writing Sample:

Please make yourself familiar with the the Walt Disney World for Grown-ups subjects, formatting, and overall friendly tone. Our website focuses on travel tips, activities, and events that adults who are traveling to Walt Disney World will enjoy on their own and with peers. We reserve the right to reject ideas that are not appropriate for Walt Disney World for Grown-ups.

When thinking about submitting a guest post, the first step is to search the Walt Disney World for Grown-ups website to be sure that we haven't covered your topic recently. If we have, that doesn't mean that we won't be able to publish your guest post, it only means that we might have to wait several months before publishing.

Once you know what topic you would like to cover, send an email with your topic idea and a writing sample to kristen [at] wdwforgrownups.com for review. This will insure that your topics wouldn't already be covered by another author and allow us to get a better idea of your skill.

Please note the following Guest Post Policies:

Your article must be original and not published elsewhere, in whole or in part, on the internet prior to or after its publishing on Walt Disney World for Grown-ups.

You may include one link in your byline, which will be displayed at the end of the post. Unfortunately, we're not able to link to websites that currently compete " or could compete " with any of our sponsors. This is not a requirement from our sponsors, but Walt Disney World for Grown-ups has made this choice to better serve and promote our partners. We also cannot include links to sites that are not related in any way to Disney or travel. Overall, we reserve the right to decline a link if we consider it to be inappropriate for our site in any way.

Keep your writing informal and use a conversational tone. A light hearted style should try to be maintained.

Posts should be between 300 - 500 words long and include a minimum of 3 photos.

When writing a review of a hotel, restaurant, or experience, please try not to deem it "good" or "bad," but help readers determine whether your subject is a good pick for their vacation.

Include a short bio so that we may introduce you to our readers at the beginning of the post.

Photo Submission:

All posts must include accompanying photos. You must have authority and permission to use the photos, and they must not be published on any other content-based websites (photo-sharing websites like flickr and photobucket, etc., excluded) before or after being published on the Walt Disney World for Grown-ups.

Include the name that you wish to have watermarked on the photo so that proper credit is given. You should also indicate within the body of your text where you would like each photo to be displayed. Name your photos with captions prior to sending.

We reserve the right to correct grammar, spelling, etc. as well as to add links to other posts. We will research for accuracy if needed. Please note that if major changes are necessary, we will respectfully suggest that you edit the post appropriately so that we can move forward with it at a later date. If the post is inappropriate for Walt Disney World For Grown-ups, we reserve the right to reject it.
