Wedding Room Block

When doing a Wishes Wedding at Disney you are required to set up a room block. This gives your guests rooms at a discount, and more business for Disney. We are allowed to select 3 hotels. We will provide transportation from the hotels to our wedding in the form of a motor coach.

Our wedding will be right outside the board walk at Sea Breeze Point Gazebo, followed by a dinner reception with fireworks cake cutting at Italy Isola West.

In order to cut down on transportation times and costs I'm trying to keep the resorts in a line. We're leaning towards

1. Pop Century
2. The Carribean
3. The Boardwalk

We stayed at Carribean as our first vacation together and I really liked it. Pop Century gets great reviews, and our wedding is right outside of the Boardwalk.

Thoughts?

I think they sound great as well--you have a value, a moderate, and a deluxe all in different locations, and I like the Boardwalk for your deluxe since that's where your ceremony will be held (and it's so convenient to Epcot and Hollywood Studios!!).

All great choices but i would say if money is not much of an issue i would choose the boardwalk, cut way down on the hassle of travel time and cost, also just a little bit more classy for a wedding

We get to have 3 hotels. We are trying to offer options at a varying cost for our guests. Not everyone will want to spend 300 a night on a hotel, we anticipate many will pick pop. I'm making my initial room block for 25-35 nights since we can cut 20% off the total nights. We can expand the block if more people choose to stay on property. We anticipate some will actually split a room due to costs as well not all of our family is well to do. We will stay in boardwalk, we are unsure if anyone else will. There is one other group that might we will book 9 of our room nights there for us with 3 extra in case, so 12 total. I'm planning 6 nights at Caribbean, and 9 at Pop right now. I anticipate we might have to push Pop to 15, and Caribbean to 9 if people take our advice to stay on property. We expect 35-50 to attend our wedding.

The pop will be the first pick up, followed by the Caribbean. This is not just a cost factor but a timing factor. No one wants to spend an hour on a bus in nice clothes before a wedding. This will mean 30 minutes max to and from the ceremony. Those at the boardwalk will be able to literally just walk out of the hotel.

We will be doing a welcome party/rehersal dinner at Splitsville the night before. I also plan on doing a if you're in town lets hang out at the boardwalk the evening before that after prerace dinner. All racers should be in bed by 8:30 or 9 Smile since we have a 3 am wake up call. We will also do a brunch after the wedding at cost to our guests if they choose to come. I'll pick that after we set up the block. I'm leaning towards cape may since its usually not over crowded, the food is good, and the characters are awesome. We were talking about having characters at the wedding but our locations wont allow it.

We wanted to get married in October but we had a lot of interest in people to actually come to a Disney wedding, so we pushed back to February. We are working the contract now but we are blocked for 2/24/2014 Smile I am very excited.

Oh my goodness, what a good idea! It's still a bit on the early side (trust me - 6 months out, the calendar speeds WAY up) Pixie do you still need room nights filled? My DH and I will be down from the 20/21st through the 24th. I'd be pleased as punch to help fill some nights for you. mickey

Pop is great choice! Lots of wedding parties stay there. Caribbean is another great choice because it next door to Pop and both are within a few minutes of the Boardwalk.
