What time of year would be your perfect visit?

mickey I have been to Walt Disneyworld in the summer holidays and the Christmas holidays and they are both completely different. Then i have been to disneyland paris in summer april and halloween... I would like to know what time of year is your favourite time to go? Do you prefer the Hot summery weather or the winter wonderland? Or maybe the quieter spring time or autumn? Do you go for specific holidays? Let me know your thoughts! mickey

We love September and early December. September because it's very slow and short waits for rides. Prices for rooms are also great at this time of year. It is very hot that time of year and sometimes rains but overall it is a nice time to go. Early December is nice because of the weather and it's not to busy and all the wonderful Christmas decorations are up.

We've been in late August (never again!), late September, October, and May. May wins hands down for me. Usually warm, but not stifling, and the crowds are just medium or low.

If been to WDW in July (never again), April, May and late September. I much prefer late September weather and crowd wise.

I have been in January, February, July, October (3 times) and Nov/December and for me it is October. The weather is perfect for me mid 80's during the day and low 70's at night.

My Orlando window of opportunity is mid-October to mid-April, but avoiding all high-crowd holiday periods. I will never go during the other six months of the year because I hatehatehate heat. Did I mention hate? I absolutely loathe it. And IMO anything over 80 degrees Fahrenheit is hot, and anything over 85 is too hot.

I've been in February and loved it weather-wise and the crowds were very manageable. I just don't like the downtime for certain rides then (especially Splash Mountain).

I'm going in September this year so I'll see how it goes. I know it's much hotter, but the crowds should be on par with February if not a little better (hoping for no South American tour groups!!).

But my DREAM trip would be the first week of December. It's between the Thanksgiving and Christmas rushes, so crowds are lighter. Weather would be pleasant if not a little chilly. It'd be decorated for Christmas. PLUS it's the week of my birthday. I just doubt I'll ever be able to go then because I chose retail as a career. yuck

My favorite time is late April early May. I think the weather is perfect and crowds pretty manageable.

Early December is also pretty coolio. Holiday decorations, lower crowds, but it can be chilly in the mornings!

We went in January and I was so surprised that the crowds were at an all time short! However, it was sooooo cold!!! I'm hoping that this past January was a "freak" of nature so if we choose to go again we won't freeze. We are heading out to WDW again in October for the mnsshp! After reading y'all s comments, I'm thinking that is a great time to go.

We've gone the last 3 January's and definitely this past January was cold and wet, which is very unusual. It can be cool in the morning but it usually warms up during the day once the sun comes out. We plan on going next January as we enjoy the low crowds and the weather should be nice.

We have also gone in September and the crowds were non existent so we are going back again this year at the same time. It was hot though.

We have gone in January February October and December. We live the Christmas events the most so will be planning our trips toward that. But I would like to see September crowds.

We have gone in January, May, June, July, September, October,November and December. January is our favorite time to go although like Jan said, it was cold and wet this year. Our two September trips have been our two hottest and most humid of all of our trips.

Idealistically, September or October because of the low crowds, and being able to attend the Halloween Party and Food and Wine. Very early December, too because I really want to spend my birthday in Disney one day! I wouldn't mind November as long as the trip is before the week of Thanksgiving or the monday after the Thanksgiving break to get a head start celebrating my birthday in the bubble!

October for me! Perfect weather, and not too big crowds. Plus, you get Hallowe'en and all the fun decorations! One day perhaps I would like to try in December for some of the Christmas holiday flair.

We have had 3 trips to WDW, first in May, then late Sept/early Oct and last time late Aug/early Sept. Of those I think May might have been my favourite and late Aug/early Sept was too hot for us and certainly too busy at the start.
This year we are going end of Oct/most of Nov and I am hoping this will be our favourite time, the weather should be nice and we get to do Hallowe'en and Christmas, for most of our trips the crowds will be manageable and I have plenty of non park activities for the busier days. It is also meant to be a really good time for things like swimming with manatees as the waters are clear and plenty of manatees about.

We LOVE October for MNSSHP, F&WF, low crowds, and reasonable weather. This year we're going the first week in September and then we're doing the first week in December in 2015 so we'll see if October stays our favorite!

We are going in May this year and are hoping the crowds and weather will be really manageable.

We live in Florida and have AP so we have been to Disney world every month of the year except June and July(I refuse to go then!) Our absolute favorite time to visit Disney world is the first or second week of December. The Thanksgiving crowds have gone home, the Christmas crowds haven't gotten too out of hand yet, the parks are decorated for Christmas(Osborne Lights are our FAVORITE!)and the weather is perfect. We go every year one of those two weeks.

Well, my first trip to Epcot was during Spring Break somewhere around 1982, I think. All I remember from that trip is that I had a hangover (it was the day after a cousin's wedding, where I stupidly "acted like a grown-up" and drank Champaign) and it was entirely too bright and Morocco was way, way loud ~lame chuckle~. Yeah, I learned my lesson on that one...drink more water!

I went in August 2000, and it was hot, but rainy...so not as miserable as it could have been.

I went December 12, 2012, and it was perfect with a flannel shirt or light jacket. January 2014 was an anomaly for weather, so I won't let it weigh my decision.

From all that I've read, plus very dear friend's perspectives...I know that I would love to go in early November for Food & Wine, plus Mickey's Christmas.

All this being said, we're seriously reconsidering going in August...opting to stay local for our anniversary & my birthday...and bank that moolah to splurge on Deluxe accommodations and a longer stay in December ('cause y'all make it sound positively grand biggrin )

I really don't want to wear DH out with heat and not-so-gracious tourists (although I know they're there no matter the time of year...adding heat and humidity would just make it even more difficult to deal with.)

May all the way for us.We used to go in September but after a hurricane put paid to that one year we have gone the first two weeks of May since.Light crowds and good weather combined with the F+G make it awesome ... If only we didn't have to wait until 2015 waiting waiting waiting

Thanks MrFerret I was concerned about the weather and the crowds but now it seems like a perfect time. Am just not sure about how crazy the weekend of the May 16 -18 will be as that is the first weekend for Star Tours. And I know about waiting I hate waiting for my next Disney trip. After this trip I won't be back to Disney until November 2017. This will be real hard seeing I have been the last 3 year (which is a first for me). sad waiting waiting waiting waiting

I can't decide if I love Hallowe'en or Christmas better! Although, as I have technically never seen the parks decorated for Christmas, I had best start planning another trip specifically for (ahem) the sake of research. silly If we went the beginning of December, I could celebrate my birthday in Disney Christmas style! yay Win Win!
