Another recent acquisition even though this pin was released back in 2009.

This is what the pin looks like:

And when you open the door, you see this:

And you wonder why Donald is always in such a bad mood.

More Donald Duck pins, since we are working on our pin frames.

This is a rather interesting pin, because it shows Mickey painting a large picture of Donald Duck for his "magazine". This is also a Disney Auction pin, which any pin collector will know, is no longer being produced. So there is only a finite quantity of this type of pin, and it is usually not easy to trade for. Still, I got it via pin trading.

This is one of my most favorite pin, simply because I haven't seen it anywhere else, and I don't know the origin or story surrounding it. Pin trading isn't big at all at HK Disneyland, so I don't quite know why they would go to this extent to produce such a pin, but I'm glad they did anyway.

This was obtained via pin trading.

This is a pin we got probably more than a year ago, but only recently has it been framed. I like this one especially because of the images of both the retro, classic Donald with the new one. Besides, Donald is happy in this one and not his ornery self.

Is it too early to start thinking about the Christmas/Holiday season? Not by judging the Christmas merchandise that are already on sale in many stores!

This is a rather cute 2-pin set, mounted on a postcard. The Mickey and Donald with holiday card are the pins.

This is appropriate for the season. We got this from last year's MNSSHP. I forget if this is the entire set or not, but we definitely got this because they were all ducks! Smile It is a bonus that they connect to Nightmare Before Christmas.

We had another wonderful Windy City Pin Traders pin trading meet yesterday. People from all over the upper Midwest showed up, and Tom Tombusch drove all the way from Ohio to make one of his regular appearances at our pin trading day.

Tom brought several of his Disneyana books, including the last one. We bought one and had him signed it.

We managed to trade for several very good pins yesterday. The first one is this set of 3 pins.

This next one is the Donald pin that I had been eying for a while, and finally made a deal to get it.

This one is an oddity. We don't collect Stitch pins, unless he is with Donald, or if there's a connection to a set or to ducks. But when I saw it, I traded for it. It wasn't easy. It is a Disney Auction pins, which is always in demand. But more importantly, the pin itself is highly amusing. It is Stitch trying to get into a Mickey outfit! While it is an LE of 1000, there seem to be a lot of demand for it on PinPics. I sacrificed a lot of good pins to get him!

There are new pins at the Disney stores in downtown Chicago. The Windy City pin is not a new design, but they added new colors to it. And other one is new, or at least, I haven't seen one like that before. Take note that according to what I've been told, one pin was found at the Michigan Ave. store, while the other was found at the State Street store.

It was a fun event. People were trading pins, Vinylmations, and Sorcerer cards. You should drop by some time.

I love this firefighter with Mickey pin. Living in NYC during the 9/11 attacks has really put firefighters high in my book. Mickey thanking them for being heroes is really heart warming to me.

The EPCOT pin was my first pin I ever bought, I love that it spins and you can see all of the flags from World Showcase!

Wow, nice trades you got ZZ! I'm not much of a Stitch fan either, but that pin is super cute.

Sounds like a fun time had by all. Thanks for sharing the pics!

Hi LC - i really like that EPCOT spinning wheel pin as well. I bought It during one visit, and apparently liked it so much, I bought another one on another visit and didn't realize I already had it until I got home and added to my collection! Ha!

Great finds, Zz! I collect Stitch, so Stick getting into his Mickey pants is my favorite from your trading day. Some of my favorite pins from my collection are characters dressed up as other characters. I also love Mickey flying on the lamp post! laugh

LabCowboy, that was one of the first pins that I bought as well. I bought the flag spinner and the countries of EPCOT set with a character representing each country.

I'd love to, Zz, but Chicago is quite a hike for us. I hope that if I ever need to be there for something that I hit a pin trading weekend!
