What's Your Traditional "First Ride?"

Is there a ride you always go on first? Has it changed over the years? We always end up in Magic Kingdom first, and because we usually fly into FL in the morning, it's often afternoon when we get to the MK. That means: no mountains because the lines are too long sarcastic , so we usually hit either Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean first. biggrin

How about you? mickey

Agreed, admin! We tend to head over to Haunted Mansion as well. Unless we're in the mood for the Tiki Room.

It used to be Splash Mountain, but we've been drifting over to the WedWay lately!

At the MK it's usually Space Mountain if we can. DHS it's always the Tower of Terror followed by the Rock n Roller. First move at Epcot is usually to grab a fast pass for Soarin'.

Did you get a chance to try out the "new" Space Mountain on your trip, Tony?

Yes, it's definately darker in there than I remember from a few years ago. The closed in loading area looks great. We didn't try the games in the queue though as we virtually walked straight onto the ride at about 10am.

Another ride where you actually WANT a queue, I guess mickey That's how I feel about Kali River Rapids; I always want to look at the details, but the wait's never that long when we go.

I think it's been one of the really important advances in theme park rides lately that they've been making the line part of the ride instead of an annoyance. You spend more time in line than you do on the ride almost all of the time so it's great that they're making it more pleasant.

Tony, you went in early December, right? And Space Mountain was walk-on at 10am? That's great! I'm starting to feel like I always manage to pick the wrong times to go.

clapping Did you get any fun freebies? I'm always interested in the different treatment of birthdays depending on what CMs are working that day mickey

The only freebee was an ice cream after dinner in Planet Hollywood. It was a HUGE ice cream though.

Does Planet Hollywood exist in the UK?

Yes, we have one in central London, about 60 miles from where I live.

We don't really have a traditional first ride, but we often end up on the WedWay pretty soon after we get to the MK. This is usually because we snag an FP for Space Mountain, and then are itching to ride something!
