  • New Rapunzel Inspired Wedding Dress to Hit Stores This Summer

    Following on the heels of Disney's film "Tangled", Disney Fairy Tale Weddings by Alfred Angelo debuted a new wedding dress inspired by Rapunzel earlier this month at its annual bridal fashion show held in New York City.

    The dress was designed with the heroine of "Tangled" in mind and created to reflect the character's "confident, unconventional approach to style."

    Also introduced to the press at the fashion show was the Cinderella Platinum gown. This wedding gown was designed to commemorate the 20th - or Plantinum - anniversary of Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons.

  • Tokyo Disneyland Reopens Today

    It has been closed since the devestating tsunami and earthquake hit Japan, but now Tokyo Disneyland is reopening its doors.

    Starting today, Tokyo Disneyland will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The shorter-than-normal hours are part of an effort by Disney to conserve energy and power consumption.

    Tokyo Disneyland will also be donating a certain amount per guest entering the parks to the Japanese Red Cross. Also, starting April 22, charity wrist bands will be available for sale with proceeds also going to the Red Cross to aid its relief efforts.

  • Fantasyland Expansion Continues as Beast's Castle Emerges

    It's pretty well known Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom is undergoing a pretty hefty expansion that will take some time to complete. Work is going strong as is evidenced by the sneak peek of the Beast's castle released this week on the Disney Parks Blog. Currently, the castle is under construction and being pieced together.

  • New Concept Art for 'Mickey's Soundsational Parade' Revealed

    Who doesn't love a good parade? The folks at Disney seem to understand this and are getting ready to debut a new parade at Disneyland next month. Late last week, some new artist images depicting scenes from the upcoming "Mickey's Soundsational Parade" were released.

    Disney has described the new parade as a "giant jam session" complete with Mickey banging it out on a "live, acoustic drum set." The images detail a "Princes and the Frog" float plus a dancer's costume.

  • Royal Wedding to be Broadcast at Dolphin Resort

    The upcoming nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton are a hot topic these days, and Disney is gearing up to put its mark on the royal wedding. Disney's Dolphin Resort is set to turn their lobby into the go-to spot for taking in the highly anticipated exchange of vows.

    Starting at 5 a.m. April 29, the Dolphin will broadcast the wedding live on large screens in its lobby. The wedding ceremony itself begins at 6 a.m. (which is 11 a.m. in England).

  • Hollywood Studios to Have New Character to Meet-and-Greet Opportunities

    Who doesn't love the chance to say hi to a Disney character? Disney's Hollywood Studios will have some new opportunities to do just that coming next month.

    Starting May 16, guests will have the chance to catch up with Phineas and Ferb. The fun duo will be featured in a movie-themed meet-and-greet experience.

    As the summer heats up and "Cars 2" gets ready to hit the big screen, Lightning McQueen can be seen at Luigi's Garage. In June, catch him as he fills in for Herbie the Love Bug on the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show.

  • Ice Cube's 'Chrome and Paint' Picked Up By Disney

    No one would call it traditional Disney movie-fare, but Disney's move to pick up Ice Cube's "Chrome and Paint" fits in with top studio execs Rich Ross and Sean Bailey and their attempts to expand Disney's film repertoire.

    Ice Cube is reportedly set to star in, produce and direct the car culture drama along side Matt Alvarez and also takes credit as screenwriter along with Eva Vives.

  • Disney Cruise Line Announces 2012 Itineraries and Ports

    Today is the day bookings open for 2012 cruises with the Disney Cruise Line. Recently, the Line revealed their itineraries for 2012 and also announced the three new home ports of New York, Seattle and Galveston.

    Beginning May 25, 2012, you can hop aboard the Disney Magic for 20 cruises setting sail from New York, New York. Three unique itineraries are planned from the Big Apple:

    • eight-night Bahamas cruises that also includes a one-day Walt Disney World Park Hopper ticket plus transporation to and from the resort.
    • five-night New England coast cruises.
