• 25 Percent Off Dining at Walt Disney World and Disneyland

    Who doesn't like saving time and money, especially when it comes to dining at the Disney parks? Back by popular demand is a voucher good for 25% off of select quick-service restaurants at both Disney World and Disneyland during the busy week of April 17-23, 2011.

    This week, one of the busiest in the parks, can make for long waits during peak dining times; the voucher encourages diners to eat on "off" or "down" times for lunch and dinner. The fine print? You must purchase an entree and also must eat before 11:30 a.m. for lunch or between 3:00-4:30 p.m. for dinner.

  • Hackers Strike Disney Destination Email Service Provider

    The system of an email provider for Disney Destinations was hacked into last week. The names of millions of customer and their emails were in Epsilon's system when the unauthorized access occurred last Wednesday.

    Epsilon has said it is cooperating with authorities in this matter, and has not gone into detail on how exactly their system was hacked. The company also has sent emails on behalf of Disney Destination updating affected users on the breach.

    Though Disney's system was not touched, a spokesperson for the company called the situation "disappointing."

  • Lawsuit Over Monorail Worker's Death Dismissed

    A wrongful death lawsuit filed by a deceased monorail pilot's mother has been dismissed. Twenty-one-year-old Austin Wuennenberg died July 5, 2009, as the result of two monorails colliding at Disney's Ticket and Trasnportation Center.

    Wuennenberg's mother filed the lawsuit against Disney last year, and accused her son's supervisior creating an unsafe situation by leaving his post. Both the family's and Disney's attorneys have said the lawsuit has been settled, but no specific details about the settlment are available.

  • Meet Mickey Using FastPass

    It's a nice feature to save time on beloved Magic Kingdom favorites like Space Mountain, and now it can be used to skip the line to meet Mickey Mouse. You read that right: guests at the Magic Kingdom can now use FastPass to meet the Mouse himself in his new digs at the Town Squre Theater.

    FastPass to see Mickey works the same as for any other attraction: grab a FastPass ticket and come back between the times printed on top of the ticket to jump the front of the line.

  • Mila Kunis On Board As An 'Oz' Witch

    She's coming off an incredible season of awards and critical acclaim associated with the movie "Black Swan," and now she's set to appear in Disney's prequel to the "Wizard of Oz." It's been reported Mila Kunis has signed on to play Theodora in "Oz: The Great and Powerful.

  • Epcot to Host Sounds Like Summer Concert Series

    Those of you lucky enough to be headed to Epcot this summer: mark your calendars! Epcot will be kicking off the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series June 12. Running throughout June and July, this year's lineup is full of tributes to some of the best-known artists and music out there. The detailed schedule is:

    • June 12 - 18: Hotel California - A Salute to the Eagles
    • June 19 - 25: Stayin' Alive " A Tribute to the Bee Gees
    • June 26 - July 2: Slippery When Wet " The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute

  • Tokyo Disneyland Update

    The Tokyo Disneyland Resort is still closed in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan earlier this month and will remain closed until further notice.

    Thorough inspections were conducted in Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySEA and found that structures and guest areas inside both parks were safe and sound. The same cannot be said, however, for the outside of the parks. More specifically, the parking lots of the parks have sustained damage from soil liquefaction which occurred when the earthquake's tremors caused the soil under the parking lots to act like liquid.

  • Great American Pie Festival to be Held in Celebration

    Whether it's chocolate, cherry or anything in between, most of us seem to have a favorite pie. Get ready to celebrate what some might deem "slices of heaven" at the Great American Pie Festival in Celebration, Florida, April 9 and 10. (The Disney connection here? Celebration lies just outside the maingate of Walt Disney World and also was a community planned and built by Disney.)

  • An Addition for the Grand Floridian

    Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be getting an addition sometime in the future.

    A permit application detailing the upcoming addition was submitted to the South Florida Water Management District. It describes a T-shaped building standing at six to seven stories high and connected to the current resort with a covered walkway.

  • English Crew Member Missing From Disney Wonder Cruise Ship

    Rebecca Coriam, a 24-year-old Disney Wonder crew member, was reported missing from the cruise ship this past week.

    The 1,754-passenger ship was at sea this past Tuesday after setting out from its home port of Los Angeles when the crew member didn't show up for the start of her shift.
