• Mars Needs Moms Trailer Released

    In a new Disney film created by the folks who made A Christmas Carol last year, nine-year-old Milo (voiced by Seth Green) has to stow away on a spaceship to save his mom (voiced by Joan Cusack) from Martians.

    Apparently, Mars is low on moms to parent their young and begins stealing moms from Earth. Milo teams up with a tech-savvy earthman named Gribble and a Martian girl called Ki to accomplish his haphazard mission.

    Check out the trailer for "Mars Needs Moms" below. The film is scheduled to open in 3D, 2D, and IMAX 3D March 11, 2011.

  • Disney Dream Lands in Hamburg, Germany

    The newest Disney cruise ship, the Disney Dream, arrived in the port of Hamburg, Germany, at 3am local time on November 22nd, 2010. Most recently, the ship has been moving along the River Ems to the North Sea, where it's been undergoing sea trials during the testing phase of its construction process.

    It will be held in dry dock this week, and move on next to Bremerhaven where it will be delivered (officially) to Disney on December 9th. There, final supplies will be loaded onto the ship and crew members will join up with the ship for its final sail to Port Canaveral, FL., where it's scheduled to arrive just after the New Year.

  • Disney Partners With Gowalla

    Eat your heart out, Foursquare. Disney's signed up to partner with Gowalla check-ins for now.

    The location-based software programs -- where guests can "check in" to different Disney locations via smartphone apps -- have been quickly climbing the charts as popular social networking options, and Disney's choice to partner with location service Gowalla instead of Facebook or Foursquare is big news.

  • Atlanta Braves Training Schedule at WDW Announced

    Did you know that the Atlanta Braves conduct their Spring Training in Disney World?

    ESPN's Wide World of Sports hosts the team each Spring for baseball season preparations, and dates for training have been announced for 2011 -- running from the end of February through late March.

    Head over to see the Braves take on the New York Yankees on March 8th; play the Cardinals on March 9th and 10th; and the Red Sox on March 16th!

  • New Parade Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios; “Block Party Bash” to End January 1

    Disney's "Block Party Bash," which has been running since 2008, will end on January 1st. Not to worry, though, Disney is set to introduce a brand new parade. The new parade has yet to be named " but will feature some of Disney-Pixar's most famous characters. Remy and Emile from "Ratatoille" and Carl and Russel from "Up" will be part of the production.

  • Disney Cast Members Raise $36K for Make-A-Wish Foundation

    In true Disney spirit, five hundred cast members and volunteers recently participated in the "Encore! Cast and Orchestra" program donated over 47,000 hours to put together "Dream Our Dreams, A Musical Tribute to the Legacy of Disney." The program was held at EPCOT center's "World Showplace" in early August, and raised over $37K for the "Make-A-Wish Foundation."

  • Walt Disney World’s “Art of Animation” Resort Set to Open in Summer 2012

    It's hard to think of Disney and not think "animation." You may think of some of your favorite movies, Finding Nemo or the Lion King, for example. Some of Disney-Pixar's famous movies are currently being incorporated into the "Art of Animation" Resort, which is slated to open during the Summer of 2012. The Lion King, the Little Mermaid and Cars will also make an appearance. Imagine the chance to experience elements of some of your favorite Disney films first-hand!

  • Winnie the Pooh Attraction Loses FASTPASS Option Temporarily

    Oh Bother. The Winnie the Pooh attraction at Walt Disney World will be temporarily closed to FASTPASS users from September 17 until mid-November due to construction.

    The large tree that was a part of "Pooh's Playful Spot" playground has been temporarily relocated to a home at "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh." There are a variety of other signs of construction in the area that may deter some Disney fans. Not to worry, though, the attraction will remain open until October 25th.

    Beginning on October 25 the ride will close until November 15th for refurbishments.

  • 2011 Disney World Mom's Panel Selection Opens

    Want to be a part of the magic? The Walt Disney World Moms Panel is now open for applications. The Moms Panel isn't just for Moms (Dad's and those without children can also apply)" but it is for true Disney World and Disney Vacation experts.

    The process of joining the Moms Panel includes an online application and phone interview. The Panel has grown in popularity and credibility over the past several years and now receives tens of thousands of applications every year.

  • Kodak to End Imagination! Pavilion Sponsorship

    The relationship between Walt Disney parks and Eastman Kodak is soon to end after over a half-century long run. The partnership started in 1955, when Disneyland originally opened, and at present there are over 50 Kodak picture spots in Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Although Kodak will not disappear completely from Disney parks, the presence will be slightly decreased.

    Kodak has provided corporate sponsorship for Mickey's Philharmagic in the Magic Kingdom and the Imagination! Pavilion at Epcot. Support for the Imagination! Pavilion and Tomorowland theater will end as a result.
