• Benefit Sale Coming in November to Downtown Disney

    If you're a fan of shopping and all things Disney, you'll want to take part in Disney's November Benefit Sale " slated to take place on November 6 from 5:30-9:30am. The one-day sale will be located at Walt Disney World's Downtown Disney, and offer large discounts on selected Disney merchandise. Not only will shoppers be able to take advantage of great deals they will also be supporting the Heart of Florida United Way.

  • Mickey Mouse Penthouse at Disneyland Hotel

    If you're planning on visiting Disneyland, you may be interested in checking out the Mickey Mouse Penthouse, located at the Disneyland Hotel. The hotel is located just past the Downtown Disney District and has access to a nearby monorail station. The suite has everything that you would expect from one of Disney's signature suites.

    Floor-to-ceiling windows afford amazing views of Disneyland Park, Disney Califronia Adventure and Downtown Disney. The suite itself is full of playful cutouts, decor and tiles that both blatantly and subtly remind us of Walt's best buddy.

  • Zhang Ziyi to Star in Live-Action Mulan

    The Mulan live-action short film is slated to begin production this fall. Zhang Ziui, the star of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Memoires of a Geisha will plan Mulan. This new version of the movie, based on the Chinese folktale, will be independently produced in a joint venture between companies based out of Canada, the UK and Beijing. Most westerners know the story of Mulan from the 1998 Disney animated feature of the same name.

    October has arrived and Halloween decorations have started to crop up at the Disneyland Resort and in Walt Disney World. It should be no surprise, then, that the Disney Store has started to stock Halloween novelties and a brief preview of their 2010 Disney costume collection.

    Costumes include choices for both adults and children; costumes include classic characters like Mickey and Minnie, Cinderella, Princess Jasmine and Peter Pan. Disney costumes, accessories and jewelry will help you turn your Halloween into a spooktacular affair!

  • 2010 Disneyland Marathon Results

    The Happiest Place on Earth recently hosted its fifth annual "Happiest Race on Earth." The race, which took place at the Disneyland Resort, had more than 14,000 runners representing all fifty states and sixteen separate countries. A record number of participants made the 13.1 mile journey through two Disneyland Resort theme parks, along Anaheim street and the field of Angel Stadium.

  • More Accusations of Denied Overtime at Walt Disney Picutres

    Disney, which was recently ordered to pay over $400,000 in back wages, has been stung with a second lawsuit that claims the denial of payment. 36 financial analysts at Walt Disney Pictures, who claim they were denied overtime wages between July 2004 and August 2010, have filed the new lawsuit.

  • "The Village Beatniks" Leave Animal Kingdom

    After twelve years of entertaining guests at the Animal Kingdom, the "Village Beatniks" have left Walt Disney World. The five-person percussion ensemble, which performed vivid African music at the "Discovery Island" section of the park, performed their last show on September 25, 2010.

    The "Beatniks" have delighted thousands of park-goers over the years " and had a knack for encouraging guests to play along and engage in the full experience. Part musicians, part storytellers, the "Beatniks" told many mythical stories of Disney's Animal Kingdom.

  • Plan Now For 2011's Flower and Garden Festival

    Want to say good-bye to winter and hello to spring with a Disney flair? Then mark your calendars now for the 18th annual "Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival."

    The Festival is set to take place in Epcot March 2, 2011 through May 15, 2011.

    Guests to the festival can expect some 300 million blooms throughout 300 acres of Epcot. Celebrity speakers and the Flower Power concert series are just a few of the things planned to usher in spring at Disney.

    This year saw a major change for Disney Pixar as they intentionally withdrew from the Hollywood chapter of the International Animated Film Society. The Society hands out annual awards, more commonly known as Annie Awards, for achievements in animation.
