'Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue' history [Looking Back]

Considered to be one of the longest, continuously running musicals in American theatre history, with more than 35,000 performances and 10 million happy audience members -- my, that's a lot of fried chicken! -- the Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue has been going strong since June 1974 at Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness.

"Up" House For Sale

File this one under the "whimsy yet cool" file: a construction company has built a life-size replica of the house from the movie "Up."

Keep in mind, this isn't the same house used in the Discovery Channel's experiment earlier this year. After getting the green light from Disney, Bangerter Homes constructed a 2,800 square foot model of Carl & Ellie's house and included some neat details from the film - including Ellie's mural in the living room.

Tinkerbell To Return to Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom is preparing to welcome back Tinkerbell and her Fairy Friends later this month.

After Toontown closed as part of the ongoing Fantasyland Expansion, Tinkerbell and the Fairies were temporarily moved to Epcot. Now, they have a new place at the Adventureland Veranda in the MK to meet and greet their fans.

Look for Tinkerbell and the Disney Fairies in their new home starting July 28.

The Bellevue Lounge

One of the many "rare finds" at Disney's Boardwalk Inn and Resort, the Bellevue Lounge is a great place to relax and enjoy a drink after a long day at the parks. The Bellevue Lounge is tucked away right off the main lobby. If you can't find it just ask one of the Cast Members and they will point you in the right direction.

The Bellevue Lounge is modeled after a 1930s sitting room and features board games and working radios playing shows from eras past. A light breakfast can be found here in addition to drinks during the evening hours.

Restaurant Review: The Wave at the Contemporary Resort

One of the advantages of living an hour from Disney is that you can hop in the car and head over for dinner on a whim. So this year for July 4th we decided that enjoying dinner at Disney World and seeing their fireworks show would make for a much better evening than a night in our home town. Our first thought for dinner was the Kona Cafe but there were no reservations so we decided to take a chance and try out The Wave at the Contemporary Resort.
