New Rapunzel Inspired Wedding Dress to Hit Stores This Summer

Following on the heels of Disney's film "Tangled", Disney Fairy Tale Weddings by Alfred Angelo debuted a new wedding dress inspired by Rapunzel earlier this month at its annual bridal fashion show held in New York City.

The dress was designed with the heroine of "Tangled" in mind and created to reflect the character's "confident, unconventional approach to style."

Also introduced to the press at the fashion show was the Cinderella Platinum gown. This wedding gown was designed to commemorate the 20th - or Plantinum - anniversary of Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons.

Tokyo Disneyland Reopens Today

It has been closed since the devestating tsunami and earthquake hit Japan, but now Tokyo Disneyland is reopening its doors.

Starting today, Tokyo Disneyland will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The shorter-than-normal hours are part of an effort by Disney to conserve energy and power consumption.

Tokyo Disneyland will also be donating a certain amount per guest entering the parks to the Japanese Red Cross. Also, starting April 22, charity wrist bands will be available for sale with proceeds also going to the Red Cross to aid its relief efforts.

Work is going strong as is evidenced by the sneak peek of the Beast's castle released this week on the Disney Parks Blog. Currently, the castle is under construction and being pieced together.

Three Rare Disney Characters and Where to Find Them

Even though we go to the parks as grown-ups without kids, that doesn't mean we are immune to the charms of the characters. Sometimes, even if we aren't hunting autographs, it's fun to see some of the more elusive characters out and about. Of course -- parades don't count! ;-)

Here are some of our favorites that we spy from time to time...

New Concept Art for 'Mickey's Soundsational Parade' Revealed

Who doesn't love a good parade? The folks at Disney seem to understand this and are getting ready to debut a new parade at Disneyland next month. Late last week, some new artist images depicting scenes from the upcoming "Mickey's Soundsational Parade" were released.

Disney has described the new parade as a "giant jam session" complete with Mickey banging it out on a "live, acoustic drum set." The images detail a "Princes and the Frog" float plus a dancer's costume.
