2011 Wine and Dine Half Marathon

Registration is now open for the 2011 Wine and Dine Half Marathon, which takes place October 1, the first Saturday of the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. The kicker? It's a night race, starting at 10 p.m.!

Disney Sued Over Hot Cheese

A lawsuit claiming negligence against Disney for serving too-hot nacho cheese has been filed by the family of a four-year-old boy.

Maria Carmen and Michael Jerome Harris, Jr., visited Walt Disney World last March with their four-year-old son. At one point during their stay, the California couple says their son was scalded by nacho cheese served at the resort. In their lawsuit, the couple alleges that Disney is negligent and reckless for not regulating the temperature of the cheese.

The family is seeking $200,000 in damages for "suffering, anguish, fright, worry, and shock."

Disneyland's "Walk of Magical Memories" Ending

A way for guests to become a part of Disneyland history is going to be discontinued shortly. The "Walk of Magical Memories" program will no longer be offered as of February 28, 2011.

The "Walk of Magical Memories" is a series of personalized stones that line the walkway between Disneyland and Disney's California Adventures. For the past eleven years, guests have had the chance to purchase and personalize a stone for this "Walk." The company has decided to bring this offering to an end, but will provide general maintenance to the stones already in place.

Disney Animator Bill Justice Passes Away

Bill Justice, a Disney animator, passed away at a Santa Monica nursing home last Thursday. He had just turned 97. Fans might not recognize his name, but undoubtedly know some of the characters he helped bring to life by animation for Disney favorites.

He began his career with Disney in 1937 and went on to work on such classics as "Fantasia" and "Bambi." In fact, he animated Thumper, a beloved "Bambi" character, as well as fan favorites Chip and Dale. The opening Mickey Mouse March for the 1950's show "The Mickey Mouse Club" is also among his animation credits.
