New Radiator Springs Ride to Debut in 2012

Fans wanting something new in Disney's California Adventure will have their wish. A new ride called Radiator Springs is set to make its premiere in 2012 in the park's Car Land.

Resembling Epcot's renowned Fast Track ride a bit, guests situated in vehicles will be able to take a four minute ride through a Cars-inspired landscape side-by-side with another car. The conclusion of each ride will randomly choose a "winner."

Earlier this year, the LA Times released a complete start-to-finish preview of the ride. If you'd like a bit more detail, read on; beware, spoilers ahead!

Disney Legend Passes Away

August 15, 2010, marked a sad day in Disney history. On that date, Disney legend Harrison "Buzz" Price died at the age of 89 in Southern California.

Mr. Price became an integral part of Disney history by suggesting the sites for both Disneyland in California and Disney World in central Florida. Overall, he completed over 150 studies for the Disney company. Walt Disney's daughter, Diane, noted him to have been involved "in nearly everything" her family did.

Changes to Fantasyland Expansion Plans

The fact that bulldozers have already gone to work might lead you to believe that the plans for the Fantasyland update were long since finalized. According to an interview with the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs in the Orlando Sentinel, this is not the case.
