Walt Disney World Resort Seeks Permission to Develop More Wetland Areas

The Walt Disney World Resort is seeking permission to develop 575 acres of wetland area, an increase from the original 350 acres it had planned to develop on the resort property over the next 30 years. The development plan has been filed with the South Florida Water Management District.

A Celebration, Florida, woman is the holder of the Guinness World Record for Mickey Mouse Memorabilia with over 4,000 items of the iconic mouse. And you thought you were a Disney fanatic!

Janet Esteves, 57, first nabbed the record in 2006; at that time, she had over 2,100 Mickey items. Now, her record-holding collection weighs in at 4,127 items - and Esteves believes she has at least 2,000 more items yet to be cataloged and counted.

When I first started running, I never gave much thought to the actual race course itself. I was more concerned about actually finishing the race and not getting swept! (If you're not familiar with being swept, for Disney races you must keep a 16 minute/mile pace on the course or you will get picked up by race officials and taken to the end of the race.) Now as I've done more races, I have become increasingly aware of the course and what challenges it will hold.
