Four New Road Projects Planned for Walt Disney World Resort

Four road projects were recently approved for the Walt Disney World Resort. The Reedy Creek Improvement District has approved a $355 million package for the projects which are expected to be completed by 2018.

If you've visited the Walt Disney World Resort in the past year you might have noticed that the crowds seemed a bit larger and maybe the stand-by queues were a bit longer. That wasn't your imagination. In 2014 the Magic Kingdom alone welcomed more than 19 million visitors, up 4 percent from 2013.

New Year’s Eve Wasn’t So Magical for Some Guests at the Magic Kingdom

The holidays are always a busy time at the Walt Disney World Resort, and New Year's Eve 2013 was no exception.

The Magic Kingdom reached capacity early Tuesday morning and was at a Phase 3 closing by about 11 a.m.

A Phase 3 park closing means admission to the park is limited to Disney Resort guests, Annual, Premier, and Premium Passholders, guests with dining reservations, and guests who have Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or Pirates League reservations.

Profits Are Up for The Walt Disney Company

The Walt Disney Company reported its second quarter earnings for the fiscal year 2013, and it was good news for the House of the Mouse. The company reported an overall profit of $1.5 billion, which is up 32 percent from the same period last year.

Details Surface Regarding Walt Disney World's 40th Anniversary Celebration on October 1

Disney to date has seemed fairly tight-lipped about what's in store to celebrate 40 years of Walt Disney World. Recently, though, some of the big day's plans have emerged and give guests an idea of what to expect on October 1 at the Magic Kingdom.

First off, a special 40th anniversary presentation will start at 10 a.m. at the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage. Mum's still the word on the presentation's details, but it's said that many guests have been planning for an early trip to the MK that day.

On a recent visit to the Magic Kingdom it was about 3 p.m. when I realized (1) I was starving and (2) I wasn't going to get anywhere near Casey's because Main Street was a mass of humanity thanks to the parade. As disappointed as I was to not be eating corn dog nuggets and fries with cheese, I had another less hectic location in mind. So, in an attempt to avoid the crowds my friend and I headed through the castle, walked past the very long lines at Peter Pan's Flight and it's a small world, turned the corner and then it hit us.
