‘Festival of the Lion King’ Moving to a New Theater at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Festival of the Lion King - the popular live show featuring songs from The Lion King - is moving to a new home at Disney Animal Kingdom sometime next year.

Disney recently announced that a new structure is under construction and should be ready to host the show sometime in 2014. The new theater will be located in the Harambe Village section in the Africa area of the Animal Kingdom, which seems fitting considering The Lion King takes place in Africa.

runDisney Announces the D23 Fun Run to Kick Off D23 Expo

Always full of surprises, runDisney has just announced the first ever D2.3 Fun Run at the D23 Expo on Friday, August 9.

In this fun run, a limited number of D23 members will have a chance to take part in the 2.3-mile run that will feature Disney characters and an opportunity to run through Disney California Adventure. Runners will receive a shirt for participating and might even experience some extra pixie dust during the race.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Epcot’s World Showcase: France and China Pavilions To Get New Attractions in Preparation For Park Anniversary

Epcot Future World Reimagined For Tomorrow

Chairman of Disney Parks and Resort Bob Chapek, and with Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald shared a vision with fans this weekend at the D23 Expo. That vision is a rejuvenated Epcot Theme Park staying true to its original mission, with new additions coming to both Future World and World Showcase in preparation for Epcot's 35th Anniversary, as well as the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World.

More Details Revealed on Rivers of Light at Disney's Animal Kingdom

As recent guests have experienced while playing at Disney's Animal Kingdom there's a lot of construction going on. One of the most obvious projects is the groundwork that have been being laid on the wide Discovery River Lake, between Discovery Island and Expedition Everest. This will be the new home of a spectacular evening extravaganza called "Rivers of Light."
