Gracey In Talks to Direct Disney's 'Order of the Seven'

Snow White, the classic heroine from Disney's 1937 animated film, is popular these days with no less than three re-tellings of the story set to hit the big screen in the next few years. Disney itself is also gearing up for a live action version of the story of Snow White, and is talks with a potential director.

"Up" House For Sale

File this one under the "whimsy yet cool" file: a construction company has built a life-size replica of the house from the movie "Up."

Keep in mind, this isn't the same house used in the Discovery Channel's experiment earlier this year. After getting the green light from Disney, Bangerter Homes constructed a 2,800 square foot model of Carl & Ellie's house and included some neat details from the film - including Ellie's mural in the living room.

Movie Buzz: "King of the Elves" and a 5th "Pirates"

Here's another round of movie buzz for my fellow Disney lovers, including a bit about a new animated film and a possible fifth return of Jack Sparrow.

First off, it looks like a project that was originally announced back in 2008 has received the go-ahead. Disney announced recently that they are moving forward with the animated feature "King of the Elves."

The story, based on a short story by Philip K. Dick, will tell the tale of a group of elves who are saved by a human from an evil troll and thus declare said human to be their king.

Movie Buzz: "Lone Ranger" and "Tron" Sequel

For all of you Disney movie buffs out there, here's some more movie buzz - this time about "The Lone Ranger" and the "Tron" sequel.

First off, word has it that "The Lone Ranger" now has a release date. Just in time for 2012's holiday rush, expect to see the adventures of the Ranger and Tonto rolling into theaters December 21, 2012. Armie Hammer ("The Social Network") and Johnny Depp are set to star along with Gore Verbinski ("Pirates of the Caribbean") taking the director's helm. Production should begin sometime later this year.

Movie Buzz: "Oz" and "The Lone Ranger"

Disney always seems to have several movie irons going in the fire, so here is some recent buzz surrounding some of its upcoming films.

First off, word on the street has it that Michelle Williams may be coming on board "Oz: The Great and Powerful" as Glinda the Good Witch. James Franco and Mila Kunis are already set to star in the picture, and talks are still continuing with Rachel Weisz to bring that actress into the project as well. Willliams is a two-time Oscar Nominee who is known for her work in "Blue Valentine" and "Brokeback Mountain."

"Oz" Comes to Detroit

There's no place like . . . Detroit? For Disney's "Oz: The Great and Powerful," the Michigan city will be the film's home for the remainder of the year as Raleigh Michigan Studios recently announced it will host the filming of the prequel.

"Oz," which will be Michigan's largest film shoot ever, will be the first movie to be filmed at Raleigh Studios. The new facility once was home to a General Motors plant.

Ice Cube's 'Chrome and Paint' Picked Up By Disney

No one would call it traditional Disney movie-fare, but Disney's move to pick up Ice Cube's "Chrome and Paint" fits in with top studio execs Rich Ross and Sean Bailey and their attempts to expand Disney's film repertoire.

Ice Cube is reportedly set to star in, produce and direct the car culture drama along side Matt Alvarez and also takes credit as screenwriter along with Eva Vives.

"Snow and the Seven" May Have New Screenwriter

There is a serious case of Snow White fever going around Hollywood these days with no less than three versions of the timeless fairy tale in various states of work. Disney is in the thick of the action with Oscar-winning (for "Little Miss Sunshine") writer Michael Arndt reportedly in negotiations to help give Disney's "Snow and the Seven" screenplay its fifth - yes, fifth- overhaul. Arndt already has a proven relationship with Disney: he penned their smash hit "Toy Story 3" and currently has an Oscar nod for penning that film.
