Food & Wine Fest Bookings Begin August 14

Food and Wine Fest enthusiasts: prepare to mark your calendars. The date guests can begin to book special events at this year's International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot is Tuesday, August 14 at 7 A.M.

Complimentary Wine Seminars Available at Epcot's Tutto Gusto

This post is for all of you Disney wine enthusiasts out there! Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar, located in the Italy pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase, is now offering complimentary wine seminars two times a week.

HGTV Personalities for Food & Wine Fest Announced

HGTV stars and personalities will be lending their expertise during this fall's International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. Starting September 28, guests can catch sessions with the stars of HGTV about gardening, food and home entertaining Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the fest.

Kicking off the lineup on September 28 will be the winner of this season's "Design Star." Here's the complete list of personalities and dates:

September 28-30: "Design Star" Season 7 winner

October 5-7: Casey Noble, "Design on a Dime"

World Showcase To Receive Updated Costumes

In what looks to be an effort to update Epcot's World Showcase, Disney Imagineers are hard at work designing new costumes for cast members at the pavilions.

It's reported guest feedback has indicated the Showcase is "somewhat dated" with the costumes being one of the "biggest issues." In order to remedy this and present a more current version of the world, Disney Imagineering is designing brand new outfits for the World Showcase.

Independence Day Offerings at Walt Disney World

It wouldn't be Independence Day without fireworks, and Disney's certainly got those covered this year. For those of you lucky enough to be in and around Walt Disney World on the 4th of July, here's a look at what Mickey and company are planning to help celebrate.

Magic Kingdom will be showing its "Disney's Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky" twice: July 3 and 4. This patriotic take on fireworks will light the up the night both dates at 9 p.m.

Disney Names Partial 2012 Candlelight Processional Narrators List

It's never too early to start talking about the holidays, especially when it concerns Walt Disney World! Disney has released a partial list of those celebrities who are set to host this year's Candlelight Processional. This year, the annual holiday show and tradition will light up Epcot from November 23 through December 30. Here are the narrators lined up thus far:

  • 11/23 - 11/25 - Isabella Rossellini
  • 11/26 - 11/29 - Neil Patrick Harris
  • 11/30 - 12/01 - Whoopi Goldberg
  • 12/02 - 12/04 - TBA

Annual Disney Trading Event Coming to Epcot This September

Fans of Disney pin and Vinylmation trading take note: this year's annual Disney Trading event is set to take place September 7-9 at Epcot. The theme for this year's trading extravaganza is "Mickey's Circus."

Two days of Mickey's Circus will be dedicated to pin trading. There are some 26 pins designed specifically for this event including boxed sets, individual pins and Passholder-only pins.

Epcot's Japan Pavilion Has New Ice Pop Stand

An ice pop can be just what the doctor ordered when taking in Disney on a hot day, and guests circling the World Showcase can find one at a new stand in the Japan pavilion.

The tasty treats will set you back (drumroll, please) only a buck. Yep, you read that right: you can have an icy treat at Epcot for $1.00. These ice pops come in melon, lemon, orange, grape and strawberry.

Reports out of Epcot say the ice pops have a good flavor, a sturdy plastic wrapper and are easily broken in two for sharing.

D23 Planning Celebration of Epcot's 30th Anniversary

Epcot is going to turn the big three-oh this year, and D23 is gearing up to celebrate the milestone this fall. The official Disney fan club will host a variety of activities revolving around Epcot's 30th anniversary September 30, 2012.

Epcot to Celebrate World Oceans Day Friday

Guests can head over to The Seas with Nemo and Friends at Epcot on Friday, June 8, to participate in Disney's observation of World Oceans Day.

Originally standing for the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, it was actually intended to be much more of the basis for Walt Disney World than the Magic Kingdom. Eventually however his initial vision proved too grand to be carried out and it became the less expansive park that you see today.
