News Tidbits: RFID Locks and Ralph Meet and Greet

Here are a couple of news tidbits from the happiest place on earth:

First up, the guest room locks at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort are getting a new technological makeover. Currently, news out of WDW has it the resort has started converting door locks to the new RFID locking method. RFID locks will enable guests to enter their rooms with just a touch - no card insertion needed. Right now, it looks like it will take about a month before the new lock work is completed.

News Tidbits: Animal Guides and New Home for Marie

Here are a couple of news tidbits for those of you heading out to the parks soon that have to do with Disney's Animal Kingdom and an Epcot character meet and greet.

First up, the next time you find yourself at AK, check out the new animal guides. Found at the main entrance, the tip board and Mombasa Marketplace, the animal guides should cover most animals found within AK. These guides look to be in a trial phase which began just the other day (October 1) and should be available through November 30.

News Tidbits: Kali Rapids and Epcot Meet-and-Greet

Here are two brief news stories that could be of interest to our Walt Disney World fans.

First up,some helpful news from Disney's Animal Kingdom. That park is said to start offering two-hour locker rentals to guests riding the Kali Rapids. Look for the new lockers by the restroom near the Rapids' main entrance. Keep in mind, it is a two-hour rental; those wishing a longer rental time can still utilize the lockers for rent near the front of the park.

The 10 Top Things To Do At Walt Disney World According To My 21 Year Old

I will admit right now, I got a little help with this article from my son, who has been dragged by his Mother on Disney vacations his entire life. As he's mentioned recently, I'm old, so I enlisted his expertise (read - guilted him into helping) on sharing what he thinks is the best of Walt Disney World for young "hip" adults. Meet Disney Princesses at Fairytale Hall in the Magic Kingdom

The Disney Princesses are one of the most popular meet-and-greet opportunities at Walt Disney World and some are easier to find than others. Fan favorites including Belle, Snow White, and Cinderella can be found at character meals including Akershus in Epcot, and others like Mulan and Tiana have meet and greets in the parks. But there's one special place where guests can meet the princesses and that's Princess Fairytale Hall in the Magic Kingdom.

No One Keeps The Magic Alive Like Gaston

Over the past several years, long time Disney fans have noticed a considerable decline in the quality of face characters at Walt Disney World. It was bound to happen with so many different meet and greet opportunities for guests to visit, Disney needed to hire more and more actors to fill those slots. One fantastic actor cannot meet all the guests all the time. However in creating a larger talent pool sometimes is seems like the Characters got watered down.

Magic Kingdom Area Character Breakfasts At Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Guests on their way to the Magic Kingdom Area have some fantastic options to choose from when it comes to that time honored family tradition, Breakfast with the Characters. Where to Find the Characters While Touring Epcot

I often hear people say that they don't think they'll take their kids to Epcot on a family trip to Walt Disney World because the kids would be "bored" since there's "nothing for kids" at Epcot.

I think it's safe to say we all know this isn't the case. From great attractions such as Soarin', Test Track, and of course The Seas with Nemo and Friends, to the Kidcot Fun Stops in each pavilion in World Showcase - there is definitely a lot for kids to do.
