Disney Extra Credit Magazine Covers Education and the Performing Arts

The second edition of Disney Extra Credit Magazine recently debuted, just in time for back-to-school.

The publication from Disney Youth Programs is designed for educators and students and covers topics in performing arts and education.

The new issue features stories by Joe Rohde, Senior Vice President and Creative Executive for Walt Disney Imagineering, and Thomas Schumacher, Producer and President of Walt Disney Theatrical.

Disney’s ‘Heroes Work Here’ Co-Hosting Veterans Institute Workshop at Walt Disney World in November

Disney is hosting a free Veterans Institute this fall as part of its ongoing Heroes Work Here initiative to hire, train, and support military veterans. The Institute's goal is to inspire other companies to employ servicemen and women who are transitioning to the private sector.

The day-long event is planned for November 14, at Disney's Yacht Club Resort and is co-sponsored by Heroes Work Here and the Disney Institute.

Main Street Bakery First Look!

Disney Being Sued by Stan Lee Media

Recently, Stan Lee Media has filed a suit against the Walt Disney Co. seeking "billions of dollars of profit" while claiming they own the rights to Marvel characters such as Iron Man and Spider Man.

Stan Lee, creator of many of the popular Marvel characters, no longer is associated with Stan Lee Media. That company says Lee gave it the rights to the characters back in 1998, but then assigned the same rights to Marvel about a month later.

In this latest suit, Stan Lee Media states:

Voyage With The Pirates of the Caribbean in Adventureland

The original Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland was the last attraction that Walt Disney oversaw the construction of, opening just three months after his death in 1967. The attraction earned raves from guests and by popular demand a version of the attraction debuted at Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida on December 15, 1973.

Mysterious "1952" Disney Movie Project Renamed "Tomorrowland"

On Jan. 28, Walt Disney Studios announced that its live-action film formerly known as "1952" will now be titled "Tomorrowland." It's a project shrouded in mystery and suspense with very little known about what the movie actually is. Congressional Bi-Partisan Privacy Caucus Questions Disney on MyMagic+

Last week Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger received a letter from the Co-Chairman of the Congressional Bi-Partisan Privacy Caucus, Edward Markey, (D- Mass). Halloween time at Walt Disney World is a wonderful cacophony of fall colors, villainous characters, and Disney magic. At night Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a hot ticket for pirate and villain lovers. It's one of my favorite times of the year to visit the Parks and to celebrate the spooktacular Halloween holiday in a fun way that's not too scary.
