This is such a good point. Technically, there is an 8:30 Bob show and the Edison doesn't start their adults only hours until 10pm. Maybe I will do both!

Also my swimsuit is from Torrid

Yeehaa Bob is so much fun! His piano rocks....no really....it is on rockers. Lots of audience participation and the music he chooses is classic and fun. He has so much energy he is an inspiration to people of all ages. silly

OK - Bob for sure, and if I have late night energy left over I will head to the Edison.

Thanks! I'm going to need to be a little brave to wear it. I don't usually try and call attention to myself in a swimsuit, yet this one is pretty obvious. But everyone should be a little bold, right?

Do you all tweak your plans and reservations up until the last minute, or is it just me? I keep staring at my spreadsheet trying to make sure that everything is how I want it and I have the best plan before I go. I think I'm driving Geordon crazy and he's not even coming on this one.

Yesterday Katie decided that we should do the Regatta Run at Yacht Club on Thursday morning. So I guess that is now in the plan. You actually get a pretty nice little swag bag for your registration. It's a 3K, so 1.86 miles. Should be a fun time!

Then I noticed that the Ale & Compass Restaurant has Chocolate Waffles with Cherry Compote and Esspresso cream on their breakfast menu. I think after the run I am going to head over there and see if they can seat me for some amazing sounding waffles.

I have 33 more weeks to go I am constantly tweeking plans as this is the only thing keeping me sane! I am doing ADRs 1 July (have the day off to do them) and keep changing the places to eat and parks to visit.

Embrace your inner Wonder Woman and rock it

I don't think I have ever had a trip where I didn't change plans while I was there.

10 more sleeps to go and things are continuing to come together here!

  • I met my budget goal for the trip this week. Yay! I'll be able to eat.
  • I bought a couple of new shirts, looks like blue and cream will be my colorway (shocker).
  • My new Wonder Woman swimsuit arrived, so I'll look super cute at the pool.
  • I bought in-room breakfasts to pack.
  • Pulled out my suitcase and started getting organized. I'm running way behind schedule on that one.
  • I can see the weather for our trip now and it looks like 40% chance of rain every day, so I added an extra pair of shoes and socks to my packing list. I will be way bummed if this spoils my pool time.

Apparently this is Polynesian Heritage Month so there will be some extra fun activities going on at the resort. I think I'm going to do the hula lessons and make a kukui nut lei. Though the ukelele lessons also sound fun.

I'm going back and forth on if I want to do a DVC class either the photography one I mentioned previously or a WBG Wine tasting. I just can't decided if I want to spend the $40 on them, or which one I would rather do. I have WBG on my list for the Chocolate Experience Tasting later in the anyhow. Would it be weird if I showed up there all four days of my vacation? George and I will be besties.

I'm also debating either going to see YeeHaa Bob -or- late night at The Edison on Thursday night. What is everyone's option about those two? I'll be solo so staying up late or dealing with kids isn't an issue. Which entertainment option would you rather see reviewed on the blog?

We enjoyed Yee Haw Bob but the Edison late night is more my style. We made reservations for 9:30 and just did drinks in our booth until the night time entertainment started to avoid any cover charge.

Oh, great tip!

I think I am going to try and stop at both if I can last that long. laugh

No kidding. I think the plan for tonight is to eat dinner, set the coffee pot for oh my god it's early, and take some Benedryl to knock me out. I can be semi-functional on about 4 hours, but I would prefer to get 6, so bed by 7PM is the plan. My daughter was working an 11 hour shift today so she'll be able to crash without too much of a problem too.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow! Plans for Tuesday include Geyser Point Bar & Grill for lunch, the Jiko/Boma tour, and dinner at Victoria Falls. Possibly a brief stop at Disney Springs for a Dole Whip Froscato. I would love it if we could get in our room before I head over to Animal Kingdom, but I'm not holding my breath. The Jiko/Boma tour starts at 4.

Day 1 Highlights!

1) **** I'm tired. Been up since 1am, now 8 pm. I'm toast.
2) I wish I had rented a scooter. This was poor planning on my part.
3) Katie cried when we arrived. That was awesome.
4) Braai Burger at Victoria Falls Lounge. OMG it's good.
5) People are not always cool, but the Oasis Pool Bar has Dole Whip & Rum Smoothies, so that makes life more better.
6) Baby ducks are cute when napping under tables.
7) People suck, when they let their children harass the wildlife.
Cool Did I mention I'm tired?

More tomorrow...

Hello from Disney's Polynesian Village Resort - Day 2!

I was so exhausted and in pain last night, but after a great sleep I'm ready-ish for day 2. I decided that I am skipping the Wilderness Lodge tour and heading to the pool instead. I might pass on the hula lesson too, we'll see how I feel this afternoon. I'm going to do some water yoga to stretch out the rest of the kinks in my body before heading over to Disney Springs for the mid-day.

Miss Katie is heading for a 15 hour day at the Magic Kingdom. Katie works in food and yesterday while we were touring Jiko she started talking to Tyler, who working the woodfire ovens preparing bread for the day. He was wonderful and spent a good 15 minutes talking to her about being in the Disney culinary service. I believe that she decided then and there she wants to go to culinary school and be a chef. She said that she isn't really happy being in management like she is now, she just wants to get in a kitchen and cook. I am so excited for her to come to this conclusion. The fact that it happened while at Disney is pretty perfect.

Here are a few more pictures from yesterday before I head on out.

Hello again hello!

I took it easy today and pretty much chucked all my plans for the day. I headed over to Disney Springs instead. I ate lunch at Pepe - AH- MAZE-ING. So good, now I really want to eat at Jaleo. I had a Chocolate Cooler at the Ganacery, those things should be illegal. It was pretty much like drinking a cool milk chocolate bar with fresh whipped cream and sprinkles. I texted with SPook for a bit and I think we are going to meet up for fireworks tonight on the beach.

Then I took a fall. Remember how I said this is the first trip in a long time without a scooter. It's probably also my last trip without a scooter. I skinned up my knee, twisted my foot and back a bit. Absolutely murdered my pride. All these people came running to help me. I was (am) so mad at myself. I was watching an amphibicar come up out of the water and didn't notice I needed to step down. It's exactly how I broke my leg in 2016. I feel like I'm lucky I didn't do it again. I actually wonder if the metal that is still in there helped to stabalize me during this fall and keep me from getting hurt worse. I promise, I only had one glass of sangria.

Back in the room now cooling off and getting some work done. It is a beautiful day. 89 degrees, only about 38% humidity, bright blue skies. May isn't too shabby. Also the only place the love bugs have been bad was over at Wilderness lodge.
