This may be a dumb question...but why did they get rid of the skyway anyway? it seems really awesome!
It seems that as the cars were travelling ABOVE everyone, certain immature individuals were trying to hit the people walking below with anything and everything that was expendible that they had with them.
Most amusement parks seemed to take down their sky rides at the same time across the country. It seems very few amusement parks have bucket rides left. I remember at one park a worker was killed when someone started up the bucket ride while he was working on one of the support structures. Many stories of having to shut them down in windy situations for safety reasons made them unprofitable to keep. But they all seemed to come down at the same time. In the past 10 years or so, the only place I have ridden a bucket ride is at the San Diego Zoo.
