I don't want to speak for the admins, but I can say that I've never seen anyone get reprimanded for going off tangent or anything. It's a small group of mature(ish?) people here and I've never really seen anyone get all bent out of shape about anything. We like chatting with one another so assuming everyone's being cool I don't think anyone has any problem with tangents. biggrin

We've never really had to do much in the way of moderation. Our users pretty much self-select. We largely get reasonable people who don't try to abuse anything so we don't really have to worry about much. They also tend to be forum-aware so they will start a new topic if necessary and if they discuss something "off topic" for a little while then it's probably something everyone's interested. It takes a while for us to find all the people that fit in, but it makes a great forum. In fact, what took you so long to get here!? biggrin

I would have been here a long time ago if I knew it existed. I don't know how I never found it before because when I found it recently it was during my normal research/planning (that I've done several times before). You know, now that I think about it, I think I ended up here looking for IoA information (via search engine). However it happened, I'm glad it did. Just bummed I can't tell my wife about the great forum (and people) I found until after our trip.

Whatever it is (that makes things work so well here), I like it awesome

My favorite Broadway show ever is Hairspray. I've seen some of the 'big ones' too (Phantom, Le Mis, etc.).

I LOVE broadway, I don't think I could socalize with some of the "snarky people". It would drive me nuts. I have seen A LOT of shows and hairspray is up in my top 5 along with lion king, rent, wicked, and jersey boys in no particular order.

mickey Hmmm... this is difficult! I guess my top 5 would be...

1. RockNRoller Coaster
2. Expedition Everest
3. Tower of Terror (even though it gives me anxiety every time!)
4. Space Mountain
5. Toy Story Midway Mania

If the Harry Potter ride were a part of Disney, that would definitely be on my list! It's the only part of Universal I really enjoy and if HP were in Disney instead of Universal, well, life would just be perfect. Smile

1. Toy Story Midway Mania
2. Test Track
3. it's a small world
4. Haunted Mansion
5. Pirates of the Caribbean

And close behind POTC is the POTC virtual reality ride at DisneyQuest, which is a "must do" for me on every trip.

Ooh, this is a hard one because I love so many rides! Let's see if I can pick...

1. Splash Mountain--if I could only go on ONE ride at Disney for an entire trip, it would be Splash Mountain. Love it that much!
2. Expedition Everest
3. Tower of Terror
4. Toy Story Midway Mania
5. Muppets 3D

Well I guess it's no surprise that Hollywood studios is my favorite park! But my two biggest runners-up: Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl, are both at AK, and I also love Soarin'!

This is a fun one. I'm going to go with the question being strictly rides (the qualification being that you travel throughout the attraction once you sit down). Here is what I would say, but I'm going to cheat...

Rock'n'Roller Coaster, Toy Story Midway Mania, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Soarin' and a Kilimanjaro Safari.

That's the New World Disney. If you want the classic version, you go with...
Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Spaceship Earth and the Jungle Cruise.

I'm kidding about the Jungle Cruise. My lists are derived about pitting a classic vs. a new somewhat similar ride (in one fashion or another). The Kilimanjaro Safari simply has to be a stand-alone, though; it makes both lists, so cancel out the Bungle Cruise (no, that's not a typo). But wait! I don't have Splash Mountain? That can't be. Perhaps I douse the safari with that.

I'm not a coaster fan (though I do love BTMR and Barnstormer and I'll suck it up and ride Splash & Space Mountains. Although I have a rule for Space Mountain. I will not ever sit in the front seat again--and neither will my husband. I will also not sit behind my husband because he is very long-waisted and it looks like he's going to be decapitated at several points in the ride, so I will ride it, but only in the middle seat in front of my husband.)

Wow Okay, let's see. If we are limiting this to five rides I am assuming only one park is in play. I realize this is an old post so I'm not doing real-time advising but this is still a fun exercise. So let's break this down by park.

Magic Kingdom:

Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Pirates of the Carribean
Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
Haunted Mansion

Epcot:

Soarin'
Test Track
Mission: Space (Orange Line)
Maelstrom
Grand Marnier Slushie in France (F&WF) (I know it's not a ride, but they are good!!)

Hollywood Studios:

Tower of Terror
Rockin' Roller Coaster
Star Tours
Great Movie Ride
Back to Tower of Terror and/or Rockin' Roller coaster

Honorable Mention is Toy Story Midway Mania, althougth I've yet to get to do it!!

Animal Kingdom:

Expedition Everest
Dinosaur
Kilimanjaro Safari
Primeval Whirl
It's a bug's life

Honorable Mention is Kali River Rapids, the only reason it is not top 5 is DW doesn't like to get wet!!

Hmm....this is a tough one! I would have to say my top 5 favorite rides are:

Rock N Roller Coaster
Splash Mountain
Toy Story Midway Mania
Expedition Everest
Space Mountain

Honorable mention: Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Kilimanjaro Safari, Tower of Terror.....I could keep going, but would most likely end up naming most of the rides at WDW.

- Kilimanjaro Safaris.

I did the Toy Story Midway Mania right for the first time in October too...and then had to do it at least twice more in the time I was back in DHS!

Ok, so Five Must Rides?
1. Toy Story Midway Mania
2. Soarin'
3. Big Thunder Mountain Railway
4. Expedition to Everest
5. is a bit of a cheat as I've chosen a ride from each park so far: tie-break: Spaceship Earth/Mission to Mars/Star Tours/Rock and Roller Coaster

difficult choices though!

PS Would the Railroad count as a ride...?
