Day Four, and "Leaving Day"
On my last full day, I set out to see the monorial resorts. However, I am a walker, and was delighted to discover that I could walk to the Poly, and then the GF from the TTC! Loved the Poly - I see why several of you like it so much. I walked by the beach, and saw a wedding! I forgot to mention it yesterday, but I saw a bride and groom at DTD in the early afternoon in their wedding attire, getting free Ghiradelli's chocolate! They had just come from a Poly beach wedding one hour before. Never thought about doing Disney in a wedding dress, carrying a bouquet...
Walked past the new construction of DVC units at GF, then into the magnificent place. Wow is all I can say. I will definitely be back there for Christmas viewing too! I kept expecting some VIP to round the corner at any moment.
Although folks at GF and other resorts have all told me I could not walk from the GF to the MK, I saw a nice brick path connecting them while riding the monorail over! Will walk that next visit. I did walk from the MK to the Contemporary, and wished I had walked back...the monorail was held up for over 20 minutes waiting for track clearance. It was a long stand on a crowded train! (couldn't get off, as they had already closed the doors.)
I bailed on the idea of going to the MK, as throngs were heading in, and it was HOT. After a salad at Earl of Sandwich, DTD, I rested a bit, parked at the Boardwalk, and headed back over to HS to hit a few favorites like Muppets. I got to see the Citizens of Hollywood perform again...I love them, so funny....then took the boat back over to enjoy Epcot for a while before turning in.
"Leaving Day" AM consisted of a final spin through Epcot again and a FABULOUS piece of carrot cake from the Boardwalk Bakery (sorry, my camera was packed). I think that cake might even be better that the cookie I have raved about all week....if you like cream cheese icing, which I do!
So, home tonight in Georgia, and missing the magic - but glad to see my kitties. Coming home is always so hard! But time to get back to school, and to detox from my newly developed carrot cake addiction.
