Thanks all it was a great event!!!

After the expo I was starting to doubt myself.., as I was placed in B group which should in theory be second fastest group. By race time I was back in a good state of mind. I finished at the 2 hours 17 minute mark... I was in the front of group b so subtract 5 minutes (each group started 5 minutes after the previous) and I'm at 2:12 last year I ran a 2:45! Oh and stupid me forgot to sign up for text messages giving me my time.

So Lizzy how did you do?

I'll write more when I return home... I'm typing this via my phone in bed...5 hours after returning to the room.

Thanks Smile I try to be modest, it does feel like a major accomplishment to shave... Err hatchet so much time off my last 1/2. However, I felt completing my first was a bigger thing... I know how Lizzy is felling today bursting with pride.

Today I'm taking it easy strolling around DTD with a breakfast at Wolfgang's Express... Before arriving MNSSHP at 4... I think the first thing to do at the MK will be a photo with Mickie and Minnie with my medal Smile

I'm still using my phone as main connection source... Yet I thought I would share this 40th button & the 1/2 marathon medal...

I will most likely fix this up a bit after I return home.

Congratulations, Mitch! That is super, super awesome and inspiring!

I finished! I didn't get swept. That was all that mattered to me during this first effort.

It was fun! And it was hard. Harder than I thought it would be, actually. But I'm psyched that I did it, and I'm proud of that medal and t shirt, and I'm ready to really work hard over the next year, and come back way, WAY stronger in next year's race.

I ended up wearing my earbuds the entire race, though I took one out at one point. I can't remember where. But I found the fun stuff more of a distraction than a help this first time, although the volunteers cheering us on - and sticking around until the bitter end for us late folk - was a HUGE help. I think I'll write up a post about the whole thing. I had one very favorite character. Had I stopped for any pic, it would have been with him!

Thanks so much for all the well wishes, Everyone! I could feel them and recall them during the race, and they helped to carry my through muchlove
