Last year, when we went to the beach area to watch Wishes, I thought about how nice a Lagoon view would be. However, my husband said he wants a garden view again - not because it's less expensive but because he loved the view!

It's nice to look out on a secluded area instead of a high-traffic one. Were a lot of people wandering through your garden view?

Not at all - really, very few people. We were in Tahiti, which is way in the back - that may have been part of the reason silly

We wee in Tahiti (http://www.familydisneyvacations.com/2008/05/polymesian-resort-map.html) and my husband said he'd like to be in that same building again. It was close to the water - though you couldn't see the water from the longhouse, it was a very short walk to a more secluded part of the beach, which is where we watched Wishes from. The TTC was close, so instead of walking to the Ceremonial House and then getting the monorail from there, you could just go to the TTC and get the monorail.

We were close to the smaller pool - which was super nice. There were hardly any people swimming in it, ever, so even though it had no slide or cool beach by it, it was perfect for relaxing quiet swims!

That's an interesting point about the TTC. If the walk were equidistant, the Express Monorail would get you there much faster, no?

That's an interesting point about the TTC. If the walk were equidistant, the Express Monorail would get you there much faster, no?

Not really - to walk to the Ceremonial house, then take the elevator or stairs to the 2nd floor to catch the monorail - and wait in line because 'usually' there is more of a crowd to get the monorail there - that takes probably just as long as walking to the TTC and then through the parking lot and up the long ramp to board the monorail. So I can't say either is quicker, lol

That sounds like heaven. Far away from the crazy of the Ceremonial House, next to an empty pool, close to monorails for MK and Epcot...rock on!

Thanks so much for the map, too. I've always been a little confused about the Poly's layout.

Yes - it was PERFECT! It was on the other side of the boat rental area and far far away from the Cove where the Luau is held!

I once asked a few people, many of them Disney regulars, to identify at which resort this picture was taken, and all of them guessed wrongly. Can you guess which resort this is?

Gray - I love that shot of the Lion fountain. That would make a great desktop theme.

ZapperZ - I would guess Poly, but I'm not confident at all.

How do you set up desktop themes? I really like what you've done with yours--especially the gondolas at Italy in Epcot. Very nice.

I was actually thinking Poly too, but when I read GF I knew it was right. It's probably also hard because so few of us can afford much at the GF! eek

I really like the 2 people in the far end of the shot. I didn't even notice them at first and when I did I felt they added to the shot.

We just take a high-res shot and scale/crop it to 1600px à 1200px. You can use that directly as a background or do whatever you want with it.
