It's hard for me to get really excited about any of the World Showcase restaurants because I think the "water down" the ethnic food alot to make it more appealing to the masses. That's why I think LeCellier & Teppen Edo are so high on the list - The food is basic enough & doesn't need to be watered down.
If I want ethnic,I make it myself or I search out the little storefront Mom & Pop places nearby.
When we go to WDW, I'd say we eat 90% of our meals at the resorts.

Annie- for my girls it is all about the princesses. Hard to find ones who come right to the table, etc Wink The character interaction is quite good- and when you have daughters, tha is all that matters.

For my husband and I it is about not hating the food b/c most character meals are just "ok" and this was is a bit more than that. :lol The breakfast is actually really good and at lunch or dinner- remember you are eating Norwegian food, so it isn't what most are used too and will complai because they don't offer more "American food". sarcastic Which , IMHO, is the point of eating in WS. But, a lot of people expect "safer" food and that just insn't the case in any WS rest.- they all serve their country's traditionall favorites.

That's an interesting point. You usually do get stuck with pretty "standard" food at character meals, which only makes sense because kids are not good about trying new foods.

We've eaten at all but 3 of them, & Chefs is our favorite.

We do that, too. There are a couple of places in MK and Epcot that we eat regularly, but other than that, we're driving to resorts most of the time!

Any suggestions at Chefs?

If you're adventurous, the escargot appetizer is the best I've eaten anywhere. I always have the duck for my entree. I love the sweet potatoes that come with it. From recent memory, others in my party have eaten the beef tenderloin & chicken. Both were a hit. We've eaten there for so long I can't remember everything we've tried. Maybe my DH or DS will remember more. I'll ask. Sorry confused

I'm actually kind of surprised they have escargot there. I would have thought that's just the kind of thing they wouldn't think would fly with typical WDW visitors. Is it unusual or pretty much typical escargot?

I LOVE escargot - definitely one of the draws there! As I remember, it was in a garlic sauce - VERY tasty!

It usually is in a very strong butter/garlic sauce. So it tastes pretty much like chewy garlic + butter. Mmmm

Hi,

I also like Tutto Italia, which is pretty expensive (requires two TS credits on the regular dining plan even for lunch). I walked there for lunch one day in December, 2007 and had the bolognese with beef and noodles as well as profiteroles for dessert.

I'm wondering if chewy garlic and butter sounds appetizing or not.
