Bill
There's a minimum new thread requirement on this forum?
There is a lot of work done behind the scenes that you guys (hopefully) don't see to make the site run well.
I feel like this thread has caused concern and a bit of panic amongst the members, so let's just recap here a little bit.
These forum rules are the same forum rules that have been in place on Walt Disney World for Grown-ups. They are not new, and we have not in any way changed the way that we are running things.
There just seems to be many threads that have the same or very similar topic. In my experience with other forums, this is discouraged. I think this is where the confusion is.
For example, if there already exists a "Magic Bands" thread, should someone start a NEW thread or post to the existing one? Which is preferred? Many new threads or adding to current ones?

We would prefer, always, that people search for answers to their questions through threads that already exist before creating a new thread on the same topic.
It is perfectly acceptable, for a forum member to answer a new thread on an old topic by posting a link to where the subject matter has already been discussed. Our moderators do this frequently.
Okay, thanks for the clarification Kristen.
Thanks Kristen, I wanted to post what you said but I've been out of the loop for a day and hadn't gotten a chance. Just started the dreaded midnight shift on Monday and that throws me out of sorts!
The only reason this thread even came up was because at times we all have to be refreshed on the rules of the forum and with the amount of new people that have joined lately they need to brought out into the open. Believe me, most people that join a forum never look at the "Rules" of a forum until something is brought up. Changes are also made at times and the rules are reposted just so people are aware.
Regarding the amount of posts or threads that people do, we don't give badges or stars or hearts or likes, we don't care about that around here. That's for others forums to do, we are here to help supply people with information on having the best Walt Disney World experience they can have, wether it's their first trip or their 100th trip and to share the knowledge & love we have for Disney as a community.
Yes What they both said. We all put in many hours going over all the postings but the vast majority of the problems we run into are not from you the forum members as you are all tremendous, but from the spammers who are constantly trying to infiltrate the postings with their own personal junk. And thanks to constant behind the scene work your senses never get assaulted by their gibberish, and you hopefully are never subjected to their trash.

I just want to thank you all for all that you do for all of us as I very much appreciate it. Great Job!

The witch hunt was way too much for me...I still get private messages from true friends asking me to come back..Thanks but no thanks...Everyone on here has one thing in common..The happy package..The love for everything Disney...It's a pleasure to be part of this magical family..

Yep, well put Fergus! I feel like I know our frequent posting members. Cannot wait to meet some in person in a few weeks!
Scrolling thru all of this, I have to admit, I didn't read the rules when I joined a few days ago, glad it came up. Seems simple enough to me. This is also the FIRST site of this type I have joined and I am enjoying it tremendously already! Everyone seems genuine and awesome.
Thanks for all the work you do to keep it running smoothly, I can't imagine it's easy!
If I want to search a topic, just I just put in "tag words"???
"I do not like the cone of shame."
"I want adventure in the great wide somewhere. I want it more than I can tell."
"It seems to me that we have a lot of story yet to tell."
If I want to search a topic, just I just put in "tag words"???
That should do it!
Could we all be a little more diligent and start double checking the spelling in our posts before we save them. I have read some posts lately that have made my head start hurting trying to understand them.
Thanks you,
Mrhub

For now.. ...I feel I'am on Disney's most wanted...
I'm dyslexic I can't really check, cause I wouldn't see the problem. Sorry.
I am an English teacher and even I haven't checked well. In my defense, the resolution on my screen is not good so I sometimes really don't see it. I also apologize for posting my TA's name. I really am in love with her as she has more magic in her than anyone else I have ever met.
"At some point in life you have to decide if you're the Tigger or the Eeyore."...Randy Pausch
"George Banks and all he stands for will be saved. Maybe not in life, but in imagination. Because that's what we storytellers do. We restore order with imagination. We instill hope again and again and again." Walt Disney

Oldtink, that wasn't a problem. Mentions like that are okay, just no blatant advertising and do not advertise any products, services, websites, or mailing lists from which you stand to gain personally.
I just know that spelling has never been one of my strong points, and when I'm having a hard time understanding a post, things are getting BAD!. We all just have to try and proof our posts before we post.
Can I have a GAC for not being able to spell please
Can I have a GAC for not being able to spell please
Me too!
I cheat...my computer spell checks automatically for me. However, when I am at work (such as now...shhhhh! Don't tell!), it doesn't let me know when I have a typo, and I can be a terrible speller. Have some posts really been that bad? Maybe I don't read them all, but I haven't noticed anything glaringly obvious. Hopefully mine are understandable!
I'm an editor, so the habit of double-checking everything and (mostly) using correct grammar, spelling, syntax, etc. has been ingrained in me for, well, decades.
But I hope you'll cut me a little slack for occasionally using common abbreviations intentionally, for effect, as in when I frequently mention that I WANNA BE A KITTY! on TSM.
I check, double check and triple check because I am a secretary and that is what I have to do. Trust me I understand when the brain moves faster than the fingers.....that has gotten me in more messes than I care to count.

HAHAHAHA!
I have just spell checked my pre trip report, then when I pasted it onto here I had to do it again!
I forget I am English and I use words like Favourite and Centre.... In keeping with my own belief system when being in a different country I should at least attempt the local language. Therefore please see the adjusted words of Favorite and Center
But as for the rules I am pleased to see a forum that uses real words, I will quit reading posts that I have to translate too much, and that's a shame because I may have found something useful in there.
Favourite and Centre are no problem, we understand regional differences.
