While I was at work yesterday my AAA travel agent left a message for me and said something like "Disney announced a new promotion and I was able to lower your rate a little bit but at least it's something". Knowing I was losing the room discount and the increase in park tickets, I'm thinking it's better than nothing and it would help offset some of my out of pocket expenses for the extra day I booked. I was only working a half day today so I went after work.

The "little bit" was $135. clapping I was not expecting that much at all.

We got the free dining but had to switch resorts and ended up doing our first night there as a room only stay which is ok since we drive and are exhausted. Great thing is we saved $300.00 by switching even though our room is an upgrade and ended up being a pirated themed room with a water view. I always wanted to check out the Caribean Beach resort and getting the pirate room should provide a few laughs for us laugh We were told that we snagged the last room availiable at that resort for the free dining and it was about 5 pm on the day us regular folk without the Disney visa could call.(being Canadian we can't get the Disney visa sad and I would if I could)

I was really bummed that I couldn't get a Disney visa as a canuck...especially when it means missing out on packages!

Congrats on your great deal! We had to switch resorts too to get the free dining plan. We went from Coronado Springs to Port Orleans Riverside. I've never stayed at either so I didn't mind at all, especially since it meant we were eating for free! biggrin
I have been waiting for years for Disney to let us Canadians have a Disney Visa and it seems like i'm just going to have to keep waiting sad

Maybe if we wrote disney and complained enough they as a group they might give in. I remember reading somewhere that they were speaking with a Canadian bank about possibly setting up a Disney Visa but that was a year or two ago and I can't remember where I read it. I wish I had one since I keep reading about all these perks and deals the card holders get.

I know! Not to mention the points I could rack up to put towards my trip!

I just read the dates for December were extended. According to Disney World site, the dates for December are the 10th though the 20th.
