I would think that would not make him a very good conversationalist. Is he fun to talk to?

Actually, yes! That's one of the things he's best at. He's a great conversationalist. Somehow he has something in common with EVERYONE! Even as one of his closest friends, I assumed for years that he was full of crap when it came to these things. He could interact with someone from some small town in a state he's never been to (far as I knew) and he would bring up some random little shop or other local spot in that town. It's amazing really. I would watch him deal with people, thinking any day someone is going to point out that he's fibbing or otherwise not accurate. Didn't happen.

That's a really good skill. He should become a salesperson.

Agreed! They always say what a great skill it is to be able to engage someone in conversation about something they're interested in!
