Hi everyone Today should have been the first day of our amazing vacation. Instead I am sitting in USA hospital day #11 with our son. He fell 20 feet broke back, both heels, multiple fractures in both feet, Pelvis and arm. Very blessed he is alive and no head trauma. Long road to recovery but will certainly recover. After meeting other parent sitting at there children's bedside praying for any sign of hope we count our blessing many times in a day. We have been very blessed with some amazing Doctors and nurses.
Just did not want you all to think I fell off the face of the earth after the warm welcome I received.

Dinah -- First, a huge welcome to WDWFG, and second, I'm SO glad to hear that your son will be OK and that you're able to be there for him. He's so lucky to have such a wonderful set of parents. Disney World will always be there and I'm sure you'll take your incredible trip eventually, but right now, you're just where you need to be. Hugs and good thoughts from all of us here at WDWFG. Thanks for checking in and letting us know about this so that we can be thinking of you. muchlove

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers! That is what is getting us through this very difficult time. But everyday we see great improvement. I have to say WDW for grownups are the most amazing people. The support is amazing. I do have one word of advise as Hardy stated this was a very expensive trip for us but I would like to advise everyone to purchase the travel insurance. I am so grateful we did! We have a wonderful TA and she has helped us tremendously. I will never plan another trip without insurance because you never know what may happen.
I do have to share one story, Dan thought I totally lost my mind when we were waiting in the ICU waiting room. I was having one of my mommy moments shedding a few tears when my phone alarm went off and I started to laugh hysterically. I showed him it was 5:30 am and the alarm was set so I could get up and do online check in~~ You never know what or when something is going to strike you as funny!!
Again thank you for your thoughts, prayers and kindness!! muchlove muchlove

So glad to hear that every day shows some improvement, Dinah! That is great news. As Kristen said, Disney will always be there for you when the time is right. First things first.

Also glad that you had trip insurance, and did not lose the $$.

Best wishes for continued healing, and keep us posted. mickey

So glad to hear that he is making improvements every day, that's wonderful! Also very glad to hear that you had trip insurance, I wondered but didn't know a delicate way to ask! You never really understand how important it is until you need it.

Hi,
You are correct--the Cape May buffet dinner is fantastic. We discovered it last year and have included it on every trip since. The crab legs are scrumptious!
