Day 6
Our last full day, sob we packed a lot in though so grab a drink and put your feet up, its gonna be a long one
We were up pretty early, we wanted to make full use of our last day! We skipped breakfast and decided to head straight to Epcot.
Look at that beautiful sign *love* <3 <3
You cant have a full TR without a pic of that pretty sign Its a far cry from my attempt in March...
Awful. I feel suitably ashamed of it
I wasn't feeling 100% today and as we wanted to try and pack in a few more things into our day we decided that I would hire an ECV so we got in the queue to hire one. We arrived just at the wrong point as there was a big queue but no one joined after us, it did mean we could have a chat with the CM's there though which was lovely The young guy who took our money was very complimentary about my dress and seemed very impressed that I made it myself, I mentioned to him that I probably should have paid closer attention to the fabric before I used it though as it clearly says 'for rent' across my left boob he laughed so hard when I pointed it out! I felt comfortable enough pointing it out to him - I don't think he would have had a good look, if you catch my drift The guys showing me to the ECV were really fun too, joking and teasing me.
I had made our fastpasses for MK later today so we were just taking it easy this morning. We went get a return time at Soarin' on the DAS card. I waited at the top while Sy went down to get it signed so I didn't have to navigate the lift in the ECV. There was quite a wait so we headed off towards World Showcase, we wanted to say a final farewell to Ann-Marie so that's where we headed. She was serving a queue of people so we amused ourselves while we waited...
Once she had cleared her queue we had a chat and then had to say goodbye, we didn't want to get her into trouble while she was working!
We then made our way further on round World Showcase. We stopped in France for this beauty, the one alcoholic drink I had all week...
La Vie En Rose
I managed about 1/3rd of the drink before having to give up and hand it to Sy, I don't think he minded
We carried on wandering round but by now our tummies were rumbling so we stopped in the America pavilion for this...
It was scrummy
We carried on round WS, grabbing a soft drink in China on our way round. It was SO hot today, we made it all the way round but by this point we were so hot we decided to skip our DAS return time for Soarin' and instead head over to MK. We needed the AC of the car I returned the ECV and we made our way to the car. We drove over to MK, parked up and made our way over on the monorail (aircon!). We arrived at about 2pm and it was so HOT. I tried to pick up an ECV however they had run out, I was a bit miffed at this as before I rented the ECV in Epcot I asked if I would be able to pick one up in MK later and I was told yes, not yes if they haven't sold out (I didn't even know that they sold out!). Sy offered to push me in a manual but as it was so hot I didn't think that was fair, I said lets go and watch the parade and try again after it had finished - as lots of people leave after the parade.
We wandered down Main Street, well by that I mean we walked through the shops (Aircon!). We grabbed a drink in Casey's and then headed to the hub to grab a spot for the parade, I did have a fastpass for the parade but right next to it was the disabled viewing area which was far emptier so I cancelled our fastpass and we were allowed into the disabled area. This area has no shade whatsoever. None. We tried sitting right at the back on the floor, if we leaned back we could keep our heads in the shade just about. The floor was also seriously hot, luckily I had brought a towel with me (for the hot leather on the ECV's) so I could sit on that. Shortly before the parade was due to start the CM came over to us to let us know that she would be removing the ropes just as the parade started so we should move to the front to make sure we could still see. I sat at the front on my towel and Sy stood behind me trying to shield me from the sun somewhat. The floor was still really hot through the towel though We were dying for another drink and tried to flag down one of the vendors but she said she couldn't stop... However there were a few after her who did stop but all on the other side of the street The parade soon arrived though and it was every bit as wonderful as what I could see in March
As soon as the parade was over we went right into the shop again, we needed to buy some drinks and get into the aircon! It really was SO hot we had to go back to the hotel, we were very uncomfortable (read sweaty) from being in the direct sunlight for so long. We decided to stop at Taco Bell on the way for some food, we hadn't really eaten much at all today.
Back at the hotel we both felt quite unwell from the heat we had some pain killers for the headaches and decided to head down to the pool to cool down and chill out for a little bit. Unfortunately there were a lot of unsupervised children around who were running and jumping between the pool and hot tub :-/ I was being a princess and not wanting to get my hair too wet so it was mightily annoying me lol. That wasn't the worst thing about our trip to the pool that day though, oh no. Have a look at this picture and see if you can spot anything...
Any ideas? That man bent over was clipping his toenails and flicking the bits of nail away. O.M.G. HOW DISGUSTING?!?! It was so awful, I took a picture. I mean, who does that?? I can't lie, I was so grossed out I went back to the room for a shower.
A pic of us in the pool before the toenail incident...
After I got out the shower and walked past the mirror and noticed that I had 2 big red marks on the underneath of my bottom, hmmm... They were boiling hot too... took me a moment to realise that I had only gone and burnt my tush on the pavement in MK! Who knew you could even do that?? Sy went to get some ice and then held iced flannels on my burnt bits he didn't seem to mind though Joking aside, it was really uncomfortable... It went down by the next morning though, it didn't blister or anything.
Once we had cooled down and treated my buns we got dressed again and headed back to MK. We parked up and took the boat in. We arrived just as one boat closed it's doors so had to wait for another but the next was soon arriving and we nabbed some seats onboard next to a lovely couple who we chatted to all the way over. They live in Florida the lucky people so visit Disney frequently... I'm not jealous though... nope.
We had all 3 fastpasses to use tonight, Big Thunder, Splash and one more which I can't remember*** (damn lack of note taking! Must not do this in October!). Sy went through bag check while I went straight inside where I bumped into the couple we were talking to on the boat and we added each other to facebook gone are the days when you swap numbers eh hehe Sy was soon through and we said goodbye to the lovely couple and headed over to the ECV hire desk, luckily they some now so I was able to hire one again for the rest of the evening. We showed the hire receipt from this morning and paid another $20 deposit. I was soon rolling away.
*** OMG how could I forget our last Fastpass???? It was only ANNA and ELSA! (ps, just remembered lol)
Where was I? Oh yes, it was getting on for dusk now and our ride on Big Thunder Mountain. Followed by Splash on which I took about a million pictures so here are just a few of them...
Singalong everyone... "pretty good show us ya.... "
Afterwards we went to get a spot for the Main Street Electrical Parade.
I wasn't prepared for the amount of people after the parade, we wanted to get a spot somewhere so we could watch the Celebrate the Magic show however there were just people EVERYWHERE. I started to have a bit of a panic attack and being on the ECV wasn't helping as I was just so worried that I was going to be one of 'those people' who ran into someone. We managed to find somewhere on the side of the bridge between Liberty Square and Main Street, there was a little pocket where no one was, it was hard to get over there though as no one wanted to let me pass. Trust me people, if you think crowds are awful when you are walking, try being in them in an ECV where people just jump in front of you in any gap you leave (so that you don't hit the people in front). By the time we made it over to the edge I had a little cry God, what a wimp!! I started to calm down though and Celebrate the Magic came on, we couldn't really see it from where we were, there were loads of trees in the way and it was a side on view but there were no crowds, small mercies. After the show people moved on and we were able to move over the bridge a bit more and get a spot to see Wishes which wasn't too bad
After the fireworks had finished and the crowds had dispersed again we moved on to a much less busy Main Street and actually managed to find a spot right in front of the castle for the next showing of Celebrate the Magic. We knew it was too good to be true though as shortly after, a CM came along and told us we were right in the fastpass area for MSEP, damn! We asked if we would be able to stand in front of the area on the road to watch CtM and then leave and she said that it would be fine. Yes! Crisis averted and still a perfect view However just as it was coming up to show time a CM came along and told us we had to move thankfully though she took pity on us as we promised to move the second the show was over, we were allowed to stay and watch YAY! Thank you lovely CM I tried to get a picture of the awesome spot... it didn't really turn out too well lol
Take 2...
The show was awesome I've only seen it once and that was aaaages ago. It was even better than I remembered, it really touched me and made me want to cry. Everyone was singing along to the Frozen bit too which was super cute!
Once it was over we were true to our word and left the area right away. We had somewhere to be anyway... Somewhere VERY special to be in fact, a Royal Engagement you might say Yes, it was time to meet the lovely ladies themselves. Anna and Elsa! We had our elusive fastpasses so we walked straight in (I parked outside). There was no wait and we were shown into a room that had just 1 family in front of us and no one came in after (I think the girls had to go and check on Olaf after us). They were so much fun, and it was brilliant being the last guests as while we were waiting to meet Elsa, Anna kept chatting away to us We did spend a lot of time talking about chocolate cake.
It was soooo late by the time we had met the girls so we decided to head on our way home. We headed back up Main Street and handed over the ECV. We caught the monorail back (as I hate the little bugs on the boats at night).
Back at the hotel I did some organising, not quite packing but sorting ready to pack in the morning. We were feeling sad but we had such a great day that luckily the sadness didn't put too much of a dampener on it
