Thanks Disney Doc. I do apologize to all on this thread. I have been churning about my responses and realized I could have been more diplomatic in my replies. I will endeavor to do better. Been watching a thread on "another site" where they are literally calling each other some "creative" names. We are blessed to have this site and the wonderful people on it.

Unfortunately, Identity Theft is usually not the fault of the store, its the criminal aspects involved and the stores just get the rage and unfair blame from the customers involved. I've been a victims myself twice, I know what it's like, it took 6 years to remedy my cases. My personal information was stolen from my medical records when I was in getting medical treatment for sleep Apnea. Nowadays people have to be aware of their surrounding to NOT become a victim but sometimes, there is nothing you can do to stop it. Don't be mad at the stores, be mad at the criminals!

We were told by our bank that not only was Target not particularly helpful in helping resolve the problems from last Christmas, but also this particular store site seems to be prone to it and since it is the only even remotely close, we really have no other reason to go to that brand. They don' t carry our sizes in clothing or shoes, and since other stores are comparable in quality to other items, we just avoid it. Since we didn't really go there before (our son lives closer) we just don't see the need to start now.

My DH and I, as well as each son, have been the victim of identity theft, twice for each, and it can be stressful, time consuming, and in some cases costly, (and no you sometimes don't get it all back).

Wow Mrhub that truly is scary. UPMC the large healthcare organization in the PGH area had a data breach of income tax records affecting all of the employees all 62,000. It can happen anywhere. Oldtink I truly am sorry that your son was affected by the Target fiasco.

For those who are not aware, Ebay has also had such a breach and is asking that anyone who has an account to please change your password. If you don't use it anymore, then close the account so they access your account and use it without your knowledge.

Paypal is not affected by the breach.

These attacks happen everyday Tink. You should change your password regularly, thats common practice. Identity theft is big business. Watch your accounts, keep your account numbers secure, and check your credit reports once a year at least. Other than that there's no reason to panic because there is nothing else you can do. Most victims of ID theft never have to pay a penny. The biggest thing is the time put into fixing it. You're not going to stop a Cyber attack on a business believe me.

We change all of ours very often, but I just wanted to let the general public know of ebay's announcement.

We've been putting money aside slowly but surely, not easy to do on a fixed income but the dream is alive! I just turned 47 and if things go as planned we will be on our way to the World when I'm 50! Until then it's a real hoot to continually adjust our plans, read trip reports, and research every tiny detail. I think I will be one well prepared squirrel when the time comes!

Like a few have already said, We throw our change into a huge plastic jug and at the end of the year, we cash it in for the sole purpose of using it on Our Family vacation to the WORLD...

Another way, I save up for our WDW vacation is by selling items on Ebay and building up my paypal account. One of my hobbies is that I'm a treasure hunter (We call ourselves metal detectorists). Over 30 years of finding various things, some somewhat valuable and others not so much, I've started to thin out my collection by selling them on Ebay, and what better way than to use the Money for trips to Disney. This past spring, I sold enough on Ebay to have paid for our 10 day stay at Reunion (just 10 minutes west of Disney) Resorts in a brand New 6 bed-room house With pool and hot tub. So our only expense for our Disney trip was food and trinkets, since we are Annual Passholders.
