Well, they can't give you a straight answer if they don't have one themselves. Did they say when they expected to have any real answers?

Nope - and I do appreciate that and I wasn't shouty or horrible or anything to them. I'm just a bit yuck about it all as I hate not knowing what's going on!

And no, they didn't seem to know when they'd know - said they'd contact me if it was to be cancelled 'before the tour'.

I'll try and be positive and pretend this never happened and look forward to my tour - as it's going to happen, right? Wink muchlove

Ditto! crossfingers Unfortunately it's as Kristen said, the CM's lower on the totem pole don't get all the information they should at times.

It seems really unfair on the CMs. I guess they've been told not to take any more bookings and it hasn't been explained to them, so naturally they'd say they are not running?

Anyway - yes - everything very firmly crossed that I will get my tour and all will be brilliant Smile If not I will spend the cost of the tour on something equally silly and still feel grand Wink clapping

I would show up at the starting location to check. They may have changed their minds due to everyone unhappy or did not get correct info on it. It also could be a safety issue that they decided not to do the Segway.

Yeah, I'll pop down this afternoon Wink
The issue I'm having is that I can't check with that method til I'm at the parks, which leaves it very late for me to make other plans for the day Smile

I just sent another e-mail to guest services to see if they could tell us anything more about the Segway tours.
I also made a post on the Walt Disney World Facebook page too to see if I get any kind of response there.

Hey Chylah,

I still have not heard back about this issue (apart from yourself, of course!). Is it possible it can be flagged up, please? Still am unsure of the situation and we leave for Disney in just over three weeks.

Kind regards,
Rebecca

I was surprised to get and answer so fast, but here is what I got, which is pretty much nothing, sorry.

Dear Mark,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World(r) Resort.

If they have already booked the experience they would be notified if
their specific tour was cancelled. For your security, I do not have
access to their reservation. To verify an existing Walt Disney World(r)
Resort tour please call the Disney Reservation Center at
407-WDW-TOUR(939-8687). A Cast Member is available daily from 7am to
11pm Eastern Time.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Sincerely,

Keeley Shea Martin

We have friends going to Walt Disney World in May and they are coming
from the United Kingdom. They have a Segway Tour scheduled in Epcot and
have heard all the rumors about the Segway Tour being cancelled but they
have not heard anything officially from Disney that it was cancelled.
Can you give any kind of answer so they can re schedule something else
if needed. I would hate for them to have a less then magical experience
and show up only to find out that someone failed to contact them. Thank
you in advance for any help or answers you can provide.

Mark

Ah well, it is something, mrhub! I can cling to the hope that they'd have let me know by now if it was cancelled.

My biggest fear is to miss out on something because of it - this trip is such a big thing for me that I've saved up for for SUCH a long time, that I'll be really sad to miss out on another experience and 'waste' that time. I know no time at Disney is a waste, of course!! But you know what I mean Smile

Lol well now the real identities of you and Mr Hub are known... Seriously though why don't you try the number the CM gave me on Friday, he was excited because he was going to give me the blurb on it and then realised how couldn't and gave me the number to dial direct.

I am certain you are going to do the tour don't know why or how maybe it is all the positive energy of here and the lovely people that post on it but (and I paraphrase here) but Ocarina you shall go to the tour! stars

Ooh, sorry - I thought I'd replied! Thanks so much for finding that for me, but I don't want to pay the equivalent of 40c a minuite on a long-distance call where I run the risk to be fobbed off again! Smile I've gotten a bit cynical on this, since I've sent so many emails and rung so many people Sad

Edit: But muchlove - you are right - with positive energy from all you lovely lot I have the best chance to go on the tour Smile stars

Ocarina, I have seen on some other forums that people who had their Segway tours booked up to May 6 were just contacted yesterday, so if yours is around there, you should be contacted soon.

Like I mentioned earlier, I hear that there's something in the background that says that the Epcot Segway tours might make a comeback during, or just after the 2nd week of May. If you are booked later in May, then I would hold off on changing your plans if you can till after the first week of May if we haven't heard anything by then.

Dear Ms. Ocarina,
Thank you for contacting us regarding the Walt Disney World(r) Resort.
I am very sorry for the confusion surrounding the Keep Moving Forward Segway Tour at Epcot. I wanted to personally assure you that your feedback has been taken seriously and let you know how much we appreciate your comments. Our Guests' feedback allows for our continual growth and the preservation of the magic Walt Disney dreamed about.
It is my understanding that the May tours have indeed been cancelled. Please be advised that I have spoken directly with Epcot Leadership and asked them to have someone reach out to you right away. Our Epcot Guest Relations team will be able to provide you with a refund and more information.
I am available Tuesday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. EST should you have any questions.
Once again Ms. Ocarina, thank you for your patience and understanding. I sincerely hope your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort will be filled with many special memories.
Best Regards,
Kimmie DuPont

Just had a very lovely call from Michael of guest services who has fixed it all for me and was very nice indeed. It's all cancelled, sadly and they're not sure when it will happen again (I asked about why but he assures me it's just an internal rethink of the tour).

Anyway, I feel much better now! I have fastpasses and a VIP viewing of Illuminations from the Italy bit of Epcot (is that good?!?) - so very pleased! More pleased it's just all sorted, really so I can sort something else! Right! What shall I do with my last full day at Disney that doesn't involve whizzing about on a segway? clapping muchlove

So Happy that it all worked out in the end and that you at least received some sort of compensation for all that inconvenience that they put you through. I think you will muchlove the Illuminations viewing area at the Italy pavilion although it is not what you had your heart set on.

Well I'm very happy to hear that they called you and spoke to you in person. It is unfortunate that it took so long, but sometimes thing slip threw the cracks. They gave you fastpasses & the VIP illuminations viewing? Nice score! awesome

hopefully you can find something else that will pull at your heartstrings
are you only going to be at Epcot cause you can to the Wild Africa Trek at AK.
