Sunny FL May trip

Our final day in the parks, Sat., May 16th--

Got up a bit later than usual. Decided since it was nice weather to hop on over to the AK and see if any animals were out. Walked up to safari line and not very long. Not all out since it was already hot, but we did see a lot. Walked around until we got hungry and picked up, you guessed it, the Joffrey's coffee and pastries. Yeah, ate bad for breakfast this trip. Oh well!! After breakfast, DH got into Everest single-rider line again. He rode with a girl that had never been on it. That always makes his ride more enjoyable since he tries to guess how they will react. She did fine and loved it! I like to walk around the Discovery Island trails and see what birds we can see, so we did that for a bit. Walked over to see if the Kali River Rapids was open. It was shut down one of our days. Yep, it was running and people were getting soaked!! We don't do that one any more, cause I always get soaked. For some reason, he doesn't get much?! I really love this park!! I hated leaving it. Picked up some water as we left and waited for bus to hop over to Epcot for lunch.

Got to Epcot and decided to go back to SS for salads. DH got the chicken salad and I had the power salad. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it didn't taste the same. Then, I realized they didn't put any cranberries in it this time. That's what I missed. It was still good, but I missed those cranberries. Did Figment, Nemo, and LWTL. Soarin line was too long or I would have waited a bit. So, we walked through the butterfly tent one last time, and over to WS. Looked through the shops to see if we wanted any last-minute items before we left. Finally, said our farewells until next trip to Epcot and headed back to room to freshen up a bit. Got to POR and picked up a magic cookie bar to take back home to snack on.

Caught bus to MK for late night hours. FP for Splash Mtn at 6:30. I never rode this ride until a couple of trips ago. I thought I wouldn't like it. It is fast becoming my fav ride. But, low and behold, I got soaked again! Thank goodness the sun was out so I dried out quickly. Otherwise, I was going to look frizzy for our meetup with the Ferrets.
Our next FP was the 7DMT. I wish I had gotten a later one cause it would have been fun in the dark. I will do that next time. It was fun except for the false start and stop at the beginning. DH has a tricky back at times and it caused a bit of discomfort all night. We picked up mac & cheese with panko topping at The Friar's Nook. It was sooo yummy!! Picked Rup a iced mocha at Cheshire Cafe to drink before riding Buzz. I did better this time. Came within a couple of hundred to DH's score.

Ok time to seek out the Ferret's for our meetup. We walked to our scheduled place in front of the Christmas Shoppe and they were already there. DH hadn't seen many pictures of them, but quickly noticed Matt's tattoos. After introductions and hugs, we had a really great time talking to them both. Then, it was time for the 11 pm parade. This is a special parade for us. We just love it! It is a good ending to a happy day. I couldn't believe how empty it was right there. It was like the parade was just for us!! All the characters waved and blew kisses. It was awesome!! DH's back wasn't feeling really well, and we needed to get back and pack and get ready to leave the next day, so we said a sad farewell to the Ferret's and headed out of the MK for the last time this trip. It was a pleasure getting to know them and hope to see them again sometime.

Saturday, May 17th--leaving day

Hate this day. Not ready to go yet. We shower and DH packs the car for us to leave. Ate breakfast at food court slowly just to keep from getting on the road. I never like the trip back. It is the longest 10 1/2 hours getting home!! But, we got home with no traffic problems and our kitty greeted us with meows and love.

In conclusion:

Love having last minute trips when we can do them. Makes it go that much more quickly until we leave. The only negative was the heat and crowds. Loved the sunshine even though it was like July. Didn't like the crowds as much.
Really long lines compared to Fall trips. Love that Fall weather!!
Charging to the room using our MBs was totally awesome!! So much easier. Keep your receipts then check on your folio that they email you to make sure your charges are all on. And, we didn't spend any more than we usually do by pulling out the cc.
Love, love, love my Minnie pandora charm. Loved the SWW. Will plan on this venture again in a couple of years. And, finally, meeting someone we've talked to on this forum was the highlight of our trip. It is so nice to talk to people with a love for Disney as much as we love Disney. Thanks Matt and Donna!!
This was a much needed trip to recharge for the summer!! I got great tips to decorate my gardens!

Now, when can I start planning for another trip DH??.................................................................................
